I'm assuming when you modify the gestures file, it will affect all skins globally. And should work with all of them.....
I can't seem to get any of my custom ones to work. I even tried doing a simple N gesture, and it doesn't seem to take me where i want to go..... nothing happens :(
I have been testing this on my desktop... Do i need to use the touchpad in my car for it to work?????? I wouldn't think so but who knows....
it should just work off the mouse as well
Is there a jpg of the gesture "alphabet"?
I was looking for one for the alphabet of commands that come with the mouse gesture tools. I read the gestures.ini and can reproduce the letters by doing the ne,se,w movements, but the repeatability is not good enough with several of the letters to be usefull.
Well I did my own, hope it may help others. Let me know if there are errors.
yeah i know what u mean, i think the best way to use the gesture system is find very unique simple gestures and also use as few gestures as possible so as to not have to remember a lot.
gestures custom commands
Im sure many know this already, but for those who do not:
The gestures.exe is not part of what "understands" the gestures, as one may think. It is a small applet for creating your own gestures. Run gestures.exe, and simply draw the command you want in the box, and it is translated into the gestures command code, that you can then copy and paste to the gestures.ini file.
Wow this is great, I turned gestures off b/c I was not aware it did all this stuff.
Still will it interfere with GPS mapping program?
I use iguidance and I am worried that dragging the map around will be interpreted as a gesture by RR.
I don't really need them I suppose it works great as is, but they offer a great deal of potential it seems.
I found that by just pressing the function buttons on the skin makes it pretty simple and easy to remember.
Yeah it will, it will probably screw with a lot of externally run programs. Sorry for the facts:violin:

The above defines a No-Gesture area, that is, areas in which mouse/touchscreen drag movements will be ignored
for gesture purposes (so they most likely will operate for whatever may be in that location of the screen,
i.e. sliders, embedded applications etc.) You can have as many No-Gesture areas as desired.
in the GPS skin, would define a box thats 780 by 580 in size, and the top left corner would start at 20,20.
Just define a NG area, the same size as your iG embedded window.
