    Question rrconfig question

    hi,

Just finalizing the setup of road runner , i tend to play avi/mpeg files so a dvd player is no benefit

RR seems to be setup for power dvd/windvd player as most skins already have the powerdvd.skin etc.

Is it possible for MP to be used without having to embed it through the applications skins, just like PowerDVD? has anyone else tried it? Seems to be very little covered in the road runner forums!

Have you installed all the codecs? Make sure you have, they are not included with RoadRunner or Windows.

And you can use an external if you open RRConfig, and select external video player and set the correct path. I would try the codecs first though.

I have all codecs using kliite, i have set the path to the wmplayer.exe, and the name to 'Windows Media Player', but when it loads it just disappears into the background when i select video on skin

Does it work when you use the internal player? Because that will automatically load WMP classic.

Try that, and if it works, then it is all in the settings of the directory and the name of the window. The name must match. Not close, but match.

WMP Classic and the build in Player are 2 different players. Road Runner has a Player build in. This is not WMP Classic!
Check your RRConfig.exe. When you select Build in, RR uses it's own Player and when you selct External Player then it will use WMP Classic.

Ok, well it works like classic. Fast and low resources. I've never messed with the external players because the built in works great.

    whoopsie.

Genius, as long as the 'use external player' is ticked, it overrides all the other settings, and just uses the wpc...

Might be worth including that on the road runner faq section, cos i didnt notice any mention in there!

    Thanks for the help guys!
