ok, good news from Zorro, hes going to be allowing owners of a phonocontrol license to use the phocoadapter software seperate, you will need to load a file onto your ppc which will hold a special license key based on your imei serial number and your phonecontrol license.

I will be posting more info soon I hope in here and on my site on how to install and get it working.

What a top man Zorro is.... Will he be selling new licenses for those that dont have it - at least for the PPC client ?

Hi m8, I'm sure he will be able to sort something out.. but I'm unsure if he will be offering support on the phocoadapter.. saying this as long as it works.. it works :-)

I will let you know more details as soon as I've chatted with him.

Which phocoadapter version did you use. I tried them all. I worked with Zorro on my HP 6515/WM2003SE for weeks and could not get it stable. I have a registered version. When I used your standalone all it would do was recycle the initalizing com attempt.

Hi m8, I'm using the latest one thats with centrafuse at the moment. Just working out a license problem at the moment with him.. the adapter is working great.. + I've installed some free software from emoze – Free Push email, mobile email software for mobile devices. that links to my main machine and pushs email / tasks / contacts etc from my main machine to my phone.. works great :-)

    an intersting development indeed

Javascript is the answer, and using an AJAX approach.

what you would do in javascript is keep a socket open, and that would respond to events by fililng parts of the html document it's sitting on.

the webpage can then dumbly just send requests without having to refresh, and the resopnses coming back through the javascript socket, would change the document wihtout it being reloaded.

of course, you can get flash for the pcc, and use that instead!

did you ever get to finish this? I havent had a carPC in awhile, but i would love to use RR as my frontend for my music playback on my HTPC.. and use my UMPC for control..

so basically install RR on my HTPC, use my UMPC as the remote
