Pocket PC Remote for RoadRunner ?

Just wondering if this has been done already ? I am downloading visual studio at the moment which seems to support coding for the pocketpc.. what I was thinking about doing was writing 2 apps, one runs on your pc with roadrunner and the other on the pocketpc, you would be able to fully control roadrunner from the pocketpc emulating each screen and sending button presses and also getting information back from roadrunner like volume amount, track no etc.. The way I was going to like was over wifi and a normal ip address / port using udp or something. This way you could control your pc from a fair distance.. main reason for this is I've got a orbit 02 windows mobile 5.0 to play with.

ideas / advice / comments ?

like the wifi idea, but maybe bluetooth support also...?

What about using an app like Side Window http://www.innobec.com/en/products.php and creating a dual monitor skin and using the PPC that way? Since you are an amazing skinner that might be an easier route

That would be perfect. I have a 6700 with full keyboard. Would you have support for something like that as well? I currently cheat the system and use terminal services to use my pda/phone and use it like a remote that way... I have heard of poeple using girder, but imo thats a very kludgy way of doing it.... since girder's support isnt really designed to use PDAs as a remote... or to the best of my knowledge.

ok made a simple webserver at the moment, this runs on the same machine as rr, then you simply use the webbrowser on your pda / palm / phone to view it.. so say your main pc has a ip of 192.168.0.1 you view the index page by going to http://192.168.0.1 OR the PC name ie.. MYPC so http://MYPC then if you want to send commands to rr you just add them after.. like http://MYPC/PLAY etc..

I still need to do a little webpage and have a bit more of a play with the server but its working :-)

So in theory (if we wanted to spend time) we could duplicate our CarPC skin, and then duplicate the buttons? Or is it going to be limited to things like Play, Pause, Stop, etc?

Also, are you considering having this built in support for your new skin?

ok I need some help with the html stuff, never really got on with it.. what I'm after is sending a command to the server via a hyperlink, with the actual browser not doing anything.. attached is a quick skin I did so you can see what I'm after..
