Thread: can't launch map monkey embedded

which skin ? see if you have destinator_gps.skin in the skin's folder -- otherwise it won't work. I'd recommend trying it with BMV2 first to check.

Exact same problem here. Using the CFX Green skin, and it does indeed have a desitinator_gps.skin

Path inside the skin file is pointing to the correct MapMonkey exe. Should I post the destinator_gps.skin file?

I've tried other skins as well. Same issue.

Hi guino.

I was using the BMV2 skin that came with the installer, Destinator skin present in folder.

I've just tried substituting an edited version of the BMV2 skin from an earlier install (known good), and that dosen't work either. Current version of the skin works fine on old install.

didn't know anybody still used MapMonkey. The author 'Ninja Monkey' vanished a few years ago after threats of law suits etc.

I thought most people had moved on to D6 / D7 as it uses a newer routing engine and looks nicer


If you want to play cutting edge games have a look at Igo/Navngo and Sygic Drive

fixed my problem.

Set config to External and set window name to "Map Monkey"

All is well again

In the end I gave up. I have set up the CF/D6 bodge - works well! I'm just going to edit the BMV2 skin now so that i have some control over winamp.

Shame there's no uk maps for iGuidance - looks good.

I have got Map Monkey to run embedded again. I went back to the .exe from 11-02-07, and all is good.

Map monkey may be old and outdated, but it's good and stable with good speed cam support. and with a little fiddling D6 maps will work!

Would be good if someone could make a fully D6 version of map monkey though.
