RR, Silabs and TP?

But the silabs tuner seems to have the RDS features so with a second tuner could we get it to work?

The way I see it working is where the tuner that isn't in use is scanning for TA flags and then RR switches to that tuner when it finds one ie when a traffic announcement comes on.

I believe the guys working on the silabs DLL had even looked into using dual tuners for that purpose, but I do not know how far they got with it. You may want to search around the net for that.

wolvers, you could try that now, have a station tuned that has Traffic Announcements...
and put in the exectbl.ini code to do something with the event

"ONTASTART","RADIO"

would be at its simplest

then if a TA comes in, it should switch to radio

i cant be 100%, cause i cant test TA, since no radio stations in my area use them
part of the problem, is its NOT used in most of the USA, if not all
anymore

Thanks mitch, I'll give it a try. I take it I need to have the RDS_TA function on for it to work? I have got a button available for that.

At least then I could leave it tuned to the station that I want to get the TA from and listen to some tunes from my library, then hopefully it would switch to it when the TA comes on.

yes. it has to be "ON" to allow that event to happen

Tried this this morning with some, but not complete, success. It didn't switch to the radio but I checked with skintool and I did get a couple of ONTASTART (and then ONTAEND) events.

Could I of entered the "ONTASTART","RADIO" line into exectbl.ini incorrectly? I just put it after the other similar looking commands.

I was wondering if it should be something like "ONTASTART","RADIO_ON"? I need to have a look through all of the skin commands I suppose.

You may want to check that there's not already a "ONTASTART" before (on top of) the one you put in -- that would take priority over the one you added below.

Thanks for your reply. I've checked that and there isn't another one.

I think I'll try a LOAD:radio_player.skin command and see what happens?

Edit; I just noticed in the RRSkin Tool log file that it's come up as ONRDSTASTART so I'll try that. It says that in the radioplayer commands doc as well so I'm obviously a muppet for just copying what Mitch wrote!
