    Sliders don't work properly.

If you click and try and drag, they move towards where your finger is but will never reverse if you move back. If you drag too far and go over another button, the slider stops tracking entirely. It confused me for a while when trying to use my touch screen but it's very obvious what's happening when you use a mouse.

This was intentional.. in MediaCar, clicking on a slider sets it directly to the position you click onto (like the song pos slider) -- this caused harsh sound effects and unexpected surprises...

I have prevented it from being able to drag up and down without letting go of the screen/button because it was quite often on my tests that when letting go of the screen (on touchscreen) it would move the slider back when letting go of the screen (because of the movement of the finger) which caused the slider to move out of the position desired.

Guino, I made a skin and I am having some slider problems... I am using only Videopos and Musicpos sliders, no volume sliders.

I am using the RR skin maker, and I copied the code exactly and couldnt find the problem... I see the sliders fine, they run and all, but I cant click them to adjust the music/video manually... what is going on?

    Code:
    MEDIACAR Skin
    MEDIACAR Default"Videoplayer"skinskinskinskin skin
    video_player_off.jpg,video_player_off.jpg,video_player_on.jpg,video_player_down.jpg

you havent set the clickable area correctly... typically the first four numbers and the next for numbers are the same... yours are different.. read skin commands.txt for details..

Doesn't your solution only solve half the problem? The slider might still jump an extra bit in whatever direction it had been moving. But I can see why did this and have no better solution to offer...

Hmm I fixed it now... I think it would be a bug of the skinning program then... just something to keep an eye out for...

Actually, this can be improved. All you need to do is require a larger than 'slip' movement before you start scrolling the other way. That makes the behavior relatively consistent whilst still satisfying the requirement that finger up doesn't cause the volume to jump a bit.

Or you could delay application of the exact finger position by half a second - then any jump as the finger leaves the screen can be ignored since it's within half a second of the finger up. You'd need to be smart about short presses then.

The reason behind the "jumps" on the sliders is because they're associated to the volumes which I strictly control to be a multiple of 5% starting at 10%. That's why you can't set them "precisely".. had I allowed any value, then you could end up with volumes like 43% or 27%...

I was talking about the jumps you mentioned:
I have prevented it from being able to drag up and down without letting go of the screen/button because it was quite often on my tests that when letting go of the screen (on touchscreen) it would move the slider back when letting go of the screen (because of the movement of the finger) which caused the slider to move out of the position desired.
Not the values you constrain it to.
