    DVD play's choppy

    Hello,

I installed roadrunner on my Epia M10000 (1GHz) 512MB RAM. My problem is that all DVD movies play choppy. When I use an external application (Powe DVD) it doesn't. I would like to use the build in DVD player because it looks better. How can I solve this 'chopping' problem?

I also can't get a visualisation on the screen. It only appears in winamp and doesn't appear in RR. How can I solve this problem?

For the Vis problem check the RR FAQ Forum - it explains how to fix it.

I just did a quick search for RR Vis and came up with an answer below:

How to get VIS to show...

DVDs... well.. honestly, depending on the DVD even on my 2.2Ghz P4 it gets choppy.. It's got to do with Media Player Classic and hardware acceleration... You should play around with MPC OUTSIDE RR, get it to where it runs best in full screen, then copy the mplayerc.ini file as mpc.ini in RR's folder -- this is so RR uses those settings. It should virtually be the same when playing DVDs inside or Outside RR. You may want to try FrodoDVD to compare speeds...

I tried Frodo, and there I don't have this problem. I think frodo uses Power DVD to play DVD-movies. Can I use Power DVD in RR without using an external program?

I thought Frodo used FrodoDVD or something built-in based on the same thing.. FrodoDVD can be used within RR as an external DVD player. Currentely RR only supports Media Player Classic for DVDs.

What version of Media player classic do you reccommend? Maybe I use the wrong version...

You download it from source fourge... and it should match your OS type.. I believe the version I use is 6.4.8.3, but newer versions should only be better..
