    Xm Line Ine Plugin Bug

Ok First Thing First I'm Using The A Line In Plug-in With My Xm Since My Sound Card Does Not Support Up Mixing. After A Few Min Of Listening To Xm Radio On Any Chanel In Any Area It Sounds Like The Buffer Is To Full And Gives Me A Scrambled Sound Hissing Kind. For A Few Seconds. Then Back To Normal. This Is Happening On My And A Friends Carputer. Any Ideas?

never seen that happening. However, I have seen both XM and SIRIUS do similar effects every now and then when for instance driving slowly under an overpass or closeby buildings, houses, etc. But I would suspect that it could be the Line In Plugin if your machine is reasonably slow -- check your CPU load, if it's under 50% most of the time, that shouldn't be the case, meaning it's probably a reception issue, but you can verify by parking somewhere with excellent signal and listening for some time to see if the signal scrambles..

The CPU load is quite high for your machine apparently.. If you're using 48Khz 16 bits etc, try reducing it to 44Khz for instance.. or 22Khz at least to see if the issue goes away. If it doesn't try switching the output plugin in winamp alternating between the directsound and waveout ones.. You can also try playing with the settings of the input/output plugins such as priorities, buffers etc. I've seen network cards and other hardware interfering with playback of CPU intensive content (Video), and can't see why this couldn't be happening there too. If everything fails, you should try disabling network cards and other devices at least just to verify if they're interfering with anything.
