    Can't exit out of Ipod in audio browser

    I haven't had a chance to upgrade; I'm still in version 5-02 with some modifications, so please forgive me if this has been fixed in one of the two newer versions.

    When I'm using the audio browser and I have an Ipod connected, I can see the selections (i.e. Ipod artists, Ipod genres...) and can go in but cannot go back out to the music browser directory. I've tried using the browse.rrl file to place a link back to the main music folder, but it only shows up in the main music folder. If I browse to anything else, I don't see the link I put in browse.rrl

    Yeah, sorry about that. I had some connection error so I hit the back button to see if the thread was there yet so I could avoid it, but it had already posted twice for some reason.

    Hi Guino. I just found the "BACK" command which returns the audio browser screen to the main music folder. Just thought I'd mention, though, that it'd be nice if one could use the two dots to go up a level (as I am controlling this with a remote). I tried several attempts of adding ".." to the "c" collection or "DL" object. I tried in TouchList and in modItunesDB to stick a .. at the top of the collection it gives to the DL, and at one point I had accomplished this (to where it'd go back to the music folder with the ..s) except for that it would not show up in a list of songs from the iPod and instead make a ghost entry... the first item would tell Winamp to play the file "..", and the last item in the DL would be blank until you scrolled to it, and it would copy the name of the actual last item in the list.

    I would have given you a screenshot of what I had gotten to, but I got too frustrated with it, reverted all my mods, and upgraded to 7-8-06

    Basically what I did was c.Add ".." in the middle of IpodSel, IpodPlayLists, and the other method (I forgot) in modItunesDB that used a collection. That's what got me furthest along.

    In short, I tried to make the audio browser give me a .. item in the list so that I could go back, but I failed, and I humbly request this for next version.

    the .. option in the folders appears if this line is in RR.INI:

    hidedots=false

    The .. won't show when listing winamp/ipod library though, and once you use the BACK button in those types of listings, it will always return to your music path -- This is a limitation by design to prevent large chunks of memory from being used to store all the browsing performed by the user.

    Yeah, I already had hidedots=false, and that's the idea, to get the ..s in the ipod listings as well. Even if all the dots do is essentially press the BACK button. It's easier to go up and down the list with a remote than to scroll through the buttons to the back button and then scroll back to the directory list.

    You can assign a button on your remote to specifically execute the BACK command (even if it's used for something else and only in the audio_browser it executes BACK).

    PS: I have done this myself and use it every day.. it is a hell of a lot easier to press a button to go back then to scroll up and hit the button to go in -- plus, with the library functions (ipod/winamp) you always go back the the music folder anyway.
