How to Embed any GPS program into Road Runner

I found the problem! Well, I found the fix. In RRConfig under the GPS settings, I changed it from External to Menu. Now when I press the Nav button in RR it brings up a menu with 3 options. One of them is Garmin Mobile. I select that and Garmin loads as an embedded app and even has an OSK built in. This rocks. It would be nice to not have that one extra click but whatever. It's a small price to pay for working GPS.

I read so many articles on people having issues with GMPC especially related to OSK. I was just about ready to switch to MS Streets and Maps. Now I don't gotta. GPS works great and I tether my IPHONE to the PC and I can even get Garmin online service. SWEET!

Hi,
i'm modifying the Garmin frame so i can easily jump from navigation to Radio/MP3 Player and back with just one button. Kinda looks like this now...

As you can see at the bottom, i also made a space where the Tracktitle and artist are shown, as well as the time and date. and here's the problem:
the line does not refresh itself automaticly.
the clock stands still untill u hit vol up or down or any other button on top.
anyone know what to do?

I helped myself by using the top of the Garmin menu and using the bottom from the "external gps" menu. throwing out the buttons and adding Title/track or RDS info as well as date and time. orange letters on black background looks beautiful:

Last thing to do, make the top bar look nicer. maybe put some icons there....
at least it works.

Having problems trying to Embed Garmin Mobile PC.

I checked the path and the Window name which is:

GPS Path:e:\GarminMobilePC\que.exe
GPS Window Name: Garmin Mobile PC

It does open on top but does not embed. When I drag the window somewhere it will "pop" back where it was but is not embeded. It covers some music buttons on the bottom of the BMV2 skin & is still on top of the skin.

I used findwindowinfo & Winspector Spy to get the Window name.

Any ideas why it does not embed?

Please post the button code you are using to open Garmin and attach the skin file you are trying to embed it into.

Not sure exactly what you need but:

My location of Garmin is e:\GarminMobilePC\que.exe. If I double click Que.exe out of RR it opens up Garmin. I used FindWindowInfo from RR's FAQS section. It shows the window name as "Garmin Mobile PC"

So In RR Config it is setup as:
GPS Path:e:\GarminMobilePC\que.exe
GPS Window Name: Garmin Mobile PC

I also tried to embed Garmin Mobile PC through RR'S APP'S but same thing happens. For some reason It does not want to work with Garmin. I know it can be done as others have said it works but I can't get it to work.

I am a newbie to a lot of stuff with RR but have embeded different programs and they work.

Yes that is what I was looking for but I was thinking of embedding regular apps, not GPS which is all configured in RRconfig, so it does no good for me to look at it. Look a few posts up where myrddin33 talks about choosing GPS menu rather than external and you will see others with the same problem and a fix.

iGuidance won't embed properly for me. RR with eLite skin. When I hit the iGuidance button, the GPS menu comes up but iGuidance doesn't load. Please see attached screenshot.

The path is correct. If I paste it in "run", it starts the application. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.

Thanks for the reply but the window name is set correctly in RRConfig and since it is iGuidance, it will embed..something just isn't right here.

Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
