RRCalendar with Google

Yeah....He PM'd me asking about how the RRSched PI is/was coming along, and if I was planning on getting it caught up, that he wouldn't bother porting over his. As time would have it, I've been real busy with having several PI's I've dev'd, along with being on the RR dev team, more of an official co-author of DFX, and helping out here in the forum where I can is just like a second full time job, though grossly under paid lol. I had requests for Google syncing and such for my PI and didn't quite get that far. My two biggest PI's that I've put a considerate amount of beta developing time into are this one and GpsEvents, and hate to see all that invested time put to the curb. Guess I still have a chance with that second one before sonic er.. someone takes it over. Might help if at least release what i have for the other one and go from there..

The really only bad thing I hate is having to deal with others PI limitations, where if it is my PI, I can just go in the code and add whatever I'm after, verse trying to persuade the PI developer to add it. As long as sonic stays around for continued development, I can't complain too much as he usually adds what is asked for.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean... its worse than doing the OSK screens and those are bad enough. Being Google based, hope that doesn't mean that they will keep breaking it as they change things.

Sonic, that looks amazing! I would LOVE to see this ported over to RR! Yes, Blue had been working on one as mentioned a couple of times, but he has had a lot on his plate, and it never did get quite finished.

One thing I would like to see, that is a section that Blue has working, is the ability to add events based on "complicated" dates.

For instance, if you add Thanksgiving, it is the last Thursday in November, and the actual date fluctuates. The same hold true For Easter, Mothers Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fathers Day, and a ton of others.

If you want, I have all of these holidays in a script here as to how the fall on a certain date. (Its the same script I gave to Blue quite some time back that he used to calculate the holidays :)

I've been following their api since the beta version of it. Nothing has changed. The plugin isn't completely tied to Google and will error trap if a connection isn't established or any other google error comes about.

I don't have any code for basic "smart" date entries, but there are publicly available shared calendars which have things like holidays, sports teams schedules, etc. This plugin currently shows me public calendars for Holidays, Dallas Cowboys game schedule, and my wife's google calendar for work.

And the way i see it a good percentage of people who will use this plugin will use or already use google calendar. Also, there's a pretty big percentage of people which will not even use the "ADD event" functions of this plugin. Google calendar is available to every pc and smartphone on the planet with an internet connection. It'll always be far easier to add stuff to the calendar in those platforms than doing it in the car.

Another "nugget" i hope to tie in is integration with RRVehicleMaintenance. So that when you add a item to scheduled maintenance or add a repair it's sent to RRCalendar (and google if you're syncing) automatically.

My goal with ALL of my existing plugins is to have them finished by 12/31/10. That means no new stuff, but it also means i can concentrate putting out finished products and start 2011 getting my stuff better integration.

Just one thing about the Carwings Dynamic Lite skin . Now, the bottom toolbar is different.

I need a bit of help realizing this plugin in RR. In the mock above there are several images
For instance:
Dead Cell-Grey box
Event Cell-Blue Box
Light Blue Cell-Today's Date

each of these cell colors are indicators which i set based on the information stored in that days array. My question is how do i create these indicators dynamically inside of RR? Essentially i'll just be using a Switch based on the content of the array, but i need to know what command in RR will allow me to set the ind based on the outcome.

i was looking for a SETINDIMAGE of some sort basically. The cells will obviously need to be clickable of course, so i dont think LOADIMG would work.

I'm obviously a bit rusty on my RR coding cause it feels like i should know this lol
