RRAppMartConnect App Mart Plugin for RideRunner

RRAppMartConnect is a RideRunner plugin which connects to https://autoappmart.com/. With this plugin, you can view all available RideRunner plugins, and download and install them with one click.

The core stuff on this plugin is already done (ported from CF version). RRAppMartConnect should be available before the end of the week.

What do developers need to do get the plugin listed?
Sign up for App Mart and upload your apps! All uploaded apps should comply with standardization guideliness as seen here and here. In order for RRAppMartConnect to properly register any .dlls, make sure you create a batch or .cmd file (preferrably named install.bat). Without this, plugin installation may fail.

What kinds of RR Apps with RRAppMartConnect work with?
For now, only FREE RR extension plugins are available. RRAppMartConnect may work with skins in the future.

Those threads are a bit out of date now.

I'm moved to install.exe rather than a zip archive for one.

well at least i would'nt have to use AutoMart its self , i hate it , its really un stable , to many issues with it at the moment IMHO

i agree that the threads are out of date... but in order for this plugin to work there has to be some kinda standard method of extracting the plugin. Having to unzip a file to run an .exe silently is going to be a lot harder than unzipping a file to a folder and registering .dlls. Why did you choose to start using .exes?

That's too bad. We wanna make this work for you guys. Can you give me some insight into what about the app mart you feel is unstable?

It all started with the iDrive skins, they also need a plugin installed which can't be installed to the plugins folder because they need to only run when an iDrive skin is run, but also need to be the same plugin for each one, not separate ones for each skin.

Helps with registering them as well. Trying to make my plugins need the users to have as little as possible to do with editing files or going to the plugins folder.

All my plugins now have proper installers so would they work or not with this. I'm doing it for the same reasons as E in that it takes as many possible problems away from the user and reduces the support required for basic errors (and even then most of the reported problems are about failed registering). Can you make it cope with an installer.. say it runs any exe called puginname-installer.exe. I suppose I could add an install.bat file that just said run the installer but it seems messy.

I also have a config section to the installer. Would this still be displayed?

Lastly and this is a very minor issue as nobody does it ...it makes people even less likely to donate

I'll have to figure a way make the plugin check for .exe or a folder and decide between both I guess.

And yea i never thought about lack of donation notification! I'm gonna have to figure something out with that!

On that note, I have had four donations in the last year, didn't realise because all my paypal donate buttons were set to an old email account that is now defunct, so I didn't get an email notification that I had received them. The Account is still registered on my paypal account so I still received the payments. (Nb I have now changed all my donate buttons. I think)
