    RRSavePOI - Save current GPS position as a POI - Alpha released

    This comes as a request made by Malaki86 See this thread

    Unfortunately Malaki86 then decided to ditch RR and go back to CF, so not to waste the effort I made trying to help him I will take what he wanted and expand.

    Original Requirements

    • Just before I pull into a new location, I open the plugin from RR
    • The plugin would show my info, along with a button to "lock" in the coordinates
    • Once it's "locked", I could then enter any needed info, mainly the name of the location and the city I'm in (I can manually type both of these)
    • I can then hit the "save" button to write to a specified file (If possible, disable "save" until coordinates are locked and any manually requested data has been entered) - Once written, pop up a window stating it's been saved with an "Ok" button. After this, exit the plugin
    • Include a "cancel" button to exit out of the plugin

    .
    .

    The CF version allowed for a custom format, such as this: %long, %lat, %1 (%2), where %long=longitude, %lat=latitude, %1=Name and %2=City.

    Suggested "built in" fields:
    • %lng - Longitude
    • %lat - Latitude
    • %time - Current time (24hr format)
    • %date - Current date (yyyy-mm-dd format)
    • %1-%9 - Custom user-specified data fields
    If possible to pull data from internet connection (or other):
    • %address - Current street address
    • %city - Current city
    • %state - Current state
    .

    The current alpha (attached) does all the above.

    At present settings have to be edited in the ini file.

    Full Release version will have

    all the settings done within RR like all my new plugins.
    Will have extra GPS based information (whatever RR can send) as preset fields.
    If there is an internet connection will try and get street info.

    New features like GATSO, SPECS, REDLIGHT, etc

    These will allow you to create updated Speedcamera files (for this I need examples of speedcamera file formats for different navigation engines)

    Running
    -------

    You will need to add a button with the code rrsp, this will bring up the RRsavePoi screen.

    Lock - locks the current GPS coords and display time and date it was done.
    Save - will bring up the OSk and allow you to enter a description.
    Clear - clears the locked GPS coords.

    If you press save without first pressing lock the coords saved will be those that are displayed on pressing save.

    Settings
    --------

    SavePOI.ini

    GPSOveride=true - Overide GPS signal validation
    SavePath= - Path to save poi file (Default is Application Data Path)
    Filename=poi.csv - Filename of poi file (Defualt is poi.csv)
    FileFormat=%date|%time|%lat|%lon|%1 Elements to have in file and order
    autoclear=true - Whether to clear the 'locked' info after successfully saving to file

    This sounds nice. but it isn't obvious to me (i may be missing something) how you would navigate back to that location..? How do you bring-up the saved information again? Oh wait, maybe it's not design to do that, it only pinpoints and identifies a location..is that it??

    I think the original idea was for the created file to be imported into a navigation programs POI or maybe it was an address book or something.

    Because you can define the format you can have the file as you want and then just import it into anything that accepts CSV formatted files.

    Looking to be able to export the speedcamera into different file formats.

    ;-----------------------------------------------------------
    ; GPS Executor Plugin for Road Runner by Guino
    ;
    ; This plugin is meant to execute any desired skin
    ; command based on the current GPS position/heading.
    ; Upon launching GPSExec, it will look for RoadRunner
    ; for 10 seconds, and if not found, it will exit.
    ; If RoadRunner Closes, GPSExec will close with it.
    ; If you wish to manually close GPSExec without closing
    ; RoadRunner, you can use the following skin command:
    ; "CLOSEWINDOW;GPSExec"
    ;
    ; Lines beginning with ; are ignored.
    ;
    ; The format of each line is the following:
    ; LATTITUDE,LONGITUDE,MINHDG,MAXHDG,DIST,UNIT,SKINCO MMAND
    ;
    ; LATTITUDE=GPS Lattitude of trigger location
    ; LONGITUDE=GPS Longitude of trigger location
    ; MINHDG=Minimun trigger heading at location (Optional)
    ; MAXHDG=Maximun trigger heading at location (Optional)
    ; DIST=Minimum trigger distance from GPS location
    ; UNIT=Unit definining Minimun trigger distance, can be:
    ; MI=Miles, FT=Feet, YD=Yards, KM=Kilometers, M=Meters
    ; SKINCOMMAND=RoadRunner Command (With Quotes)
    ;
    ; While you could use this to alert you of speed traps on
    ; your commom travel routes, I would not recommend adding
    ; thousands of items you'll never use in here.
