Enforcer, thanks for the reply, and the great plugin.
I've done a packet capture while I'm in RR and these are the packets generated when I hit the button for rrgas_gps:
I've highlighted where my zipcode is showing up in the packet, so it looks like the info is definitely coming back. I've obscured it a bit, but it is correct. I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "couldn't find the string that signifies the end". If this data is saved and read from a temp file, maybe I can check the file and see whats wrong. I'm not really sure what to check next.

Sounds like you are running the plugin twice.
You should only have one instance of x,rrgas in your skin.
It is normally in menu.skin or a plugins.txt file if you have one.
if you only have it in one place, then it could be you are running the new RideRunner and that is picking it up in your plugins folder and also loading from somewhere else (which we have been told shouldn't happen)
Coming soon in v1.6
rrgas_delete - delete a saved zipcode (coming in v1.6)
rrgas_savegps - save gps location to a file for retrieval at a later date or on a different PC (will do this automatically when gps button is pressed if no internet available. (coming in v1.6)
rrgas_offline - runs through the saved gps locations file getting prices for those locations and saving the information. (coming in v1.6)
rrgas_fuel - current fuel selected (coming in v1.6)
rrgas_#_byfuel -returns price of currently selected fuel (coming in v1.6)
"/" stripped from the brand names so icons will work.
NB: This plugin will still be based on the RoadRunner extension plugin template, but should still work fine with RideRunner.
RRGas works most of the time... but 1 out of about 3-4 times I start RR I get an error (Screen cap below). This error happens just after RR starts. What exactly is the plugin doing if I have not issued the RRGAS command to even go to the gas screen yet? Shouldn't the code in the plugin only fire when you issue the RRGas command?
Also, after going to the gas screen, RR becomes unresponsive most of the time. Hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del, RR is using upwards of 80% CPU. If I disable the gas plugin, all works normally with around 5-10% CPU usage going through all sorts of screens, purposely trying to stress the system by firing up GPS, visualizations ect.
The machine I am testing it on is my desktop system:
P4 2.8 Ghz Dual Core
4 Gigs Ram
XP Pro SP2
Latest RR (6/01)
BU-353 GPS puck with solid 6 satellites with it here on the desk
Internet is connected at all times while testing
(Ignore the dueling GPS indicators hahah I am presently working on putting all indicators into an include file)
i get this from time to time as well but for me its RRpetrol, it might be cause E has not updated the PI's since RR started to standadize its self,
Not sure why that is, just pressing the gas button should just load the gas screen and that's it. The plugin shouldn't do anything else unless you press a button.
As for the error for both of you (Carputer1, why didn't you mention this earlier ) enter debug=true in gas/petrol .ini and send me the debug.txt when it does it, also the stations.prv file.
John, I'll send you a link via PM to my lastest version which has the extras in it.
Deleted this message, as I have located the problem. I was testing something for Blue, and could not get the slider to show up for that one either... A pattern emerges...
Then through trial and error, I narrowed it down to another extension plugin that is probably not returning the -1. I am about to go post in that thread now
Sorry for thinking it was RRGas, but who knew
