Hmm that is ELM compatible. Have you tried any other OBD software?

    i've tried the following programs

    - EasyOBDII 2.2.0
    - OBD DIAG (standard i think)
    - ProScan 5.0 (i think a trial or something i'm not sure)

as far as ELM compatible, i would suppose. i'm not really sure. it didn't come with any technical information or anything... how do i find out?

This unit is compatible with the ELM327 chipset
Yep it looks like it is compatible. I'm at a loss as to why it isn't working. I havent actually tried this plugin in the car yet though (got exams comming up) so I'm not sure if it will work with my adapter (I got one of those cheap ebay ones that claim to have an ELM chip, works with OBD Diag).

well what happens is i can get to the page in Carwings for the OBDMPG menu. but i don't get any info, it's all zeroed out and the word "Connected" in the middle isn't lit up, so i'm assuming it's not connecting to the OBD scan tool?
