Well maybe it's time to post some screen captures to give a better idea of how it is going to work. Keep in mind, it's up to the skinner as to how it looks when incorporated into a skin. This is how it will look in the DigitalFX skin.
The first is the main screen that comes up when you access the GPS Events. You have 4 presets (Construction, Speed Cameras, Tool Booth and WiFi). Thease are "one click" items, meaning if you get to a toll booth, and you want a reminder the next time you get close, just click the "Toll Booth button".
The Manual Entry will bring up a map that you can pan, to place the cross hairs over the area that you want the reminder. You then are presented with a screen to name the event, the distance at which you will be reminded, as well as if it is directional or not. (Only trigger if you are going North on the road, verses going either North OR South) The last one is Custom Entry, that will take you current location, and let you enter a name for it, notes, direction triggering ect.
This first cap is of the main screen:

This screen is the "Manual Entry" location tool. Simply drag the map till the location you want is in the center of the cross hairs, and click "Get Location" to parse the Latitude and Longitude for that location. These coordinates will be carried to another screen, where you can set all of the parameters for the location (name, notes, direction based, distance ect):
