sounds GREAT to me... sounds easy as pie long as i can come up with a way to handle plugin registration and find a way to extract .rar/.zip files programatically

Well my standalone plugins unzip the automatic updates so if you need help with that.

Also I may have some code to check on whether a dll is registered or not (basically to try to add it to your app and catch the error, although I'm not sure how to do it with ones that are unknown at development time Hmmmm?)

He should have some code to check if a dll is reg'd as mitch had mentioned that he also gave him the same example that i integrated into the newer config.

if you just um..try the K.I.S.S method, maybe use zip, and i'm sure that there would be a way to use the built in extractor in windows...scrap that idea quick look and M$ supplies no docs at all..

But! You might want to take a look here Zip dll file

The example he gave me was in AI as seeing that is what the config is written in, but someone with better VB knowledge than I should be able to conv it to vb.

i've got the code to handle checking a .dlls registration.. thats no problem. I'm doing some research today on how to handle decompression.. either by rar or zip. Enforcer if you've got an example in vb6 or .net id certainly appreciate it.

Can this also be written so it works outside of Road Runner like RRConfig does? I can see instances where I want to install/update plugins regardless of which skins are already configured for them.
