    Lost,
    what about the gas station image question:

    I notice the image isnt displayed for Phillips 66 even though there is an image in the folder.
    What is the syntax for the images, can I add new ones? (MFA is big locally).

    1. unless i start mapmonkey first (or i guess any other gps program), then gpsgas will not be able to autofill the lat/long coordinates. so i have to open gps mapmonkey first, exit, then run gpsgas to get the right coordinates. anywork around with this? im sure 99.9% i will use gps first before gpsgas but its just a heads up.
    2. distance is still wrong, they have all the same distance like my first observation in the post, dont know why
    3. as mentioned in the other post, maybe autoupdate without having to click search.
    4. as requested, maybe be able to click the address or gas icon and then mapmonkey or any other gps software will route you automatically.
    5. buttons and text could be bigger maybe? bigger buttons are better for a small screen.

    later. thanks
    1 Autofill: this should be solved once i add support for standalone support (assiging gps gas its own com port using xport 3 (as mentioned earlier)

    2 Distance not showing up: Please make sure you have all the most recent files in cluding most especially zipsettings.ini
    Mkake sure it contains the lines :
    yahoogeocodeid=gpsgasoline
    doyahoogeocode=true

    This also might be a timing thing not having enough time to update the 4 stations in the alooted time of a button press but it works on my home machine (probably much faster than most carpcs including mine)

    3. Auto update: I can add to repoll gas station distance (or station data)

    4. Auto routing: Comming soon see Todo list

    5. Image size: Good point anyone care to skin up a template other than what i have, if you can figue out a better layout or have some suggestion please pm me or im

    Sorry reading your last post i thought u figured it out you just need a space in the station name

    the syntax is simple just as its displayed on the screen but the filename should be lowercase (for now)

    Distance being off: this is the best data i can get it uses the yahoo geocoding api so if the stations address is listed as
    main st
    anytown ST 11111

    then its going to default to the city center
    i still have to add supprt to know whether is a direct hit or not

    Also is an address is listed as
    100 main st
    anytown ST 11111

    there may be 100 E main st and 100 W main st so gps gas just picks the 1st one
    as for workarounds to this i think a popup window would suit best but then batch downloads are out because they will require user interaction

    and ideas or sugestions or workarounds to fix this that you can think of?

    PS im running out of Redbull ;-) wink

    copied from the 1st page this should work for you
    make sure the path to gps gas is correct for you system

    ============================================

    Installation

    Extract GPS Gasoline to Roadrunner\GPSGAS or any directory of your choice
    add this line to exectbl.ini including ***your*** path to GPSGAS...

    ============================================
    "GPSGAS","LOAD;EXTERNAL_GPS.skin;GPSGas;C:\Roadrun ner\GPSGAS\GpsGasolinev0.6.5.exe;GPS Gasoline”
    ============================================

    Then make a button that calls "GPSGAS" *without quotes
    You can use any skin file you wish i left my example as externalgps as it will work on almost all skins

    Then press search and it will locate the cheapest gas for you
    (Internet Required)

    Re directions

    I was looking at a few of the web sites that provide gas prices. Some of them

    http://autos.msn.com/everyday/GasSta...&zip=65203#map

    for instance provide a map showing the station location. Perhase you could just show that map when you click on the gas station.???

    One advantage is that it would be more generic (I'm using Street Atlas at the moment for GPS).

    It won't show your location, but it would get around the problem of the 100 nn St West/East

    Looking forward to other applications of this solution I notice the above web page (and I'm sure many others) have auto alerts (warning you of problems in an area). Perhaps this could also be handled by your solution??? Some day???
