    Frist class...

    Lostreception ---

This here is a class quote, and why forums and devs - skinners - posters here make it a good place...

"They get their info from OPIS, Microsoft lists the stations in my area just fine but I made GPSGas with the community in mind"

First class - thanks much and wel understood....

    Thanks...

    • Station Images on the main page- In your RR.ini Remove the trailing "\" on gpsgaspath.
if it is already there then try adding it but it shouldn't be there

    • Sort Via Proxinity- The sort function should be added rto the next release
    • Content- More sources will follow but iI need to focus on the issues at hand 1st, If anything multiple gas stations sites will be run at the same time

another thing some people have to keep in mind is microsofts proximity of accuracy in the prices They get their info from OPIS, Microsoft lists the stations in my area just fine but I made GPSGas with the community in mind and found that automotive.com had better covereage of other areas
(see attachment of Microsofts coverage areas) I used automtove.com not because its easier (its definatly not ) it's quite complex to get the info correctly. I used it because it would work for more poeple.
adding the Microsoft site would be quite easy its just that thier coverage is sparse

    What an ego!

I’m getting prices from MSN site not because in easier, it’s definitely NOT easier. But because the prices from MSN are accurate (Retail prices are derived from actual credit card transactions collected from Fleet Vehicles.) unlike other sources when people entering gas prices manually (anything I’ll type would be taken as actual price)

theres no ego it was just something i looked into extensively before i made my app thats all. microsoft actually has improved or i should say opis has improved thier update frequency from when i 1st looked at that site back in april

also automotive.com does not get tier data from users it is retail purchase driven as well there is not place to enter the current gas price on thier site. this is the main reason why neither of us are using gasbuddy.com and the like

ps it is definatly easier from msn as the url has the lat lon encoded into it whereas my app has to retrieve the lat lon on its own so it does have some advantages

Settle down boyz --- you both are KICKIN - now for the movies, stocks, and other kewl stuff ....

Great work and I personally am very grateful for both options. You guys were both so talented to get this data for Gas I would think the other items would be possible as well - but looking from the outside in I must be cautious with any assumptions.

    Great work and thanks...

you might wanna peek at the traffic xml plugin being that that currently read xml data that would probably suit the movie and stock data easier as it already reads an rss as a source i dont know if hes willing to share/modify his code tho but its worth a shot

well if i had a copy it sure would help but i don tplan on getting it just yet apparently there is an issue reguarding navigating to a lon lat in ig so without actually having the program here it would be hard to figure out how to make it work

Yes, apparently the 'navigate by coordinates' is available in the PocketPC version of IG3 only
    From the user manual:
To Enter a Destination by Coordinates
NOTE: This feature is available for Pocket PC version only.

    Tap Menu, Destination, Coordinates.

Enter LAT coordinate in decimal format.

Enter LON Coordinate in decimal format.

    Tap Nav to navigate to this location or;

    ----

Might it be possible to send the address to IG instead of coordinates? Just a thought.

i could do that but ig always is so picky with its names of towns and streets

    • Added Video Showing iGuidance 2.x Compatibility
    • YouTubeVideo Here (faster) link
    • Avi Video Here 33MB total ~ 7MB in Zip link
