Hi, any chance to have this interesting application running in linux?
First of all thanks for the interest is the developing. As a programmer is nice to have such attention.
So, regarding the progess of the developing, I would like to share (and change if needed) the strategy.
First stage will be to manage the following phone features form the widest range of phone manufacter/model:
- Get Phone Vendor ID (not very usefull but good to test communication)
- Get Phone Model ID (like above)
- Get the list of supported phone phonebook like Internal/SIM/Missed/Recvd...
- Read the "basic" information of phonebook entries ( name and number)
Once archived this stage we will have a stable plugin and a "certified" list of phones to continue for the:
Second Stage:
- Dial phonebook/manual number
- Manage the outgoing communication
- Incoming call event
- Conference (!!!)
- Hangup Event
Third Stage:
- Audio management
Fourth Stage:
- Outlook contact integration
- Extensive phone phonebook management
My best guess is that will took 1 or 2 months for any stage (this because i have a job and a wife that is changing the entrance door keys...)
As final comment i have in mind 2 ideas to share with you:
1) Instead to became crazy to try to use the internal phone phonebooks why don't we use only the Outlook Contacts? As far as i know any mobile phone has a "PC suite" that will keep sinced natively the phonebook with the contacts.
2) This could be a good occasion to use that old but faithfull phone that anyone has in the drawer!. You may ask to the phone provider a "copy" of your SIM card thene leave the phone connect permanently to the PC with a plain serial cable (no USB, no BT, no pain) and use the Outlook phonebook siced with your main phone.
Sounds good?
