Make sure you have the wait.skin in your skin folder, this is always needed when loading plugin's as far as I know. Without it it will just lock up.

Also the main problem with a radio plugin again as far as I know will only work when the plugin is active, so say your listening to the radio, then want to goto your gps screen, you cant still listen to the radio.. this is why I looked at coding it in native and still think its the best way to do it. If you need a hand transfering your code into RR then give me a shout as I can certainly help you there..

    CDR,

    I have to disagree.

This is an extension plugin. You can load the extension plugin in your first screen and it will be active all the time. It basically adds new labels, commands, sliders and indicators to the set of RR. You do not need a wait.skin at all. When the dll is loaded RR will for every label call the ReturnLabel function in the dll to see if the dll support that label. If not it will continue to check the labels native in RR.

thanks if you got any info.
What I understand from the design of the radio is that it does not need an line in to your computer because the microcontroller on the stick does an Analog to Digital conversion that is being send to the computer over USB. I guess that's where the lag is comming from. Normally this would not be a problem but it's interesting to hear how you came across yours.

This will probably mean that there not much that can be done about it. However 2 seconds behind is much.

I have noticed something else too. When my CarPC is very busy at time I seem to miss some of the receiption. It's far less than a second but you can hear it. Just like it skips a track on the CD player because it's dirty.

I guess Guino doesn't own a Silabs radio to be able to troubleshoot the problem. Are you able to help?
I'll make a copy of my skin tonight so you can try that out. Please also check that the USBRadio.dll is replaced by the one in the zip and the plug dll is registered correctly.

Does your radio work with the silabs sample application?

Hi, perhaps you misunderstood me. I did managed to get the radio to work in RoadRunner as well as the Silabs Radio application. I am not having problem listening to radio.

What I am having problem with is when radio is playing in the background, my skin buttons which switch focus (via the ACTIVATE command) to 3rd application to send key stroke does not work all the time. This problem does NOT exist if radio is not playing in the background.

To confirm that it's a RoadRunner issue, I stop the radio from RoadRunner and used the Silabs Radio application to start the radio again. With the Silabs radio application still running, my skin buttons works EVERYTIME without a hitch which was the case before I had the Silabs radio.
I am experiencing this in both my home and CarPC.

The only thing I can think of is that between the ACTIVATE and the sendkey another command was send from the plugin causing RR to get focus again.. Maybe Guino is say something about that..

I have also given the program a run. The main reason I wanted to use it was for the rds text which, while not yet perfect, is worlds better than what the other .dll was giving me.

What I have noticed though, when I start RR, the radio bleeps on briefly.

On resume sometimes the radio and audio start at the same time.

And finally, if I don't have audio playing and I start the radio, it starts moth.

(Maybe the last two can be solved using the 'status' label which shows play/pause/stop. I'm probably going to write this into my skin since it's annoying me but thought you'd want to know in case you wanted to incorporate it)

    Great program though!
