    Yet Another Phone Control for Sony Erricson Users

    Yet Another Phone Control
    -------------------------
    YAPC is a software to communicate with mobile phone via Bluetooth serial connection and provide support to be

    embedded with RoadRunner. Functions included are:
    1) Provide full support for frustrated Sony Erricson users like me, who has ******* problem transfering sound automatically to PC after dialing a number.
    2) Read Phonebook, SIM, Dialed, Missed, Accepted Contacts
    3) Dial, Answer, Reject a call
    4) ........

    Version
    -------
    v0.09 - First public release... easy on the critiques, people. I am still a ****y amateur programmer. But do tell me if you find any bugs or if you have any GOOD and ONLY GOOOD request.

    v0.13 - 9/25/07 - Added integration with RR. Pause music and change current skin to show YAPC. Added reconnect function using call button when disconnected. Added Multi-threading to solve RR Integration issues and some lagging issues (Thanks to Guino).

    v0.15 - 10/05/07 - Added exception handling. got rid a few bugs, and made more stable. ALSO, NOW WITH WIDCOMM SUPPORT, AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT AUDIOGATEWAY WHEN DIALING!!!!! NO MORE WORKAROUND.

    Stuff to do/ Add on (Please e-mail me if you can help.)
    -------------------
    1) Better/Prettier/Classier/Versatile Flash based GUI like Elizabeth Hurley.
    2) Fix that laggy codes polling for Phone Activity Status............................................ ......done
    3) Battery and Signal Bar
    4) Full support for Roadrunner(Auto change skin and mute music for incoming calls...)............done
    5) Support for WIDCOMM to connect and disconnect Audio Gateway..................done
    6) Build a setup for this program
    7) Stress test the ******, especially disconnecting and reconnecting the bluetooth serial COM.......80%
    8) Automatic bluetooth device detection

    .........

    Installation/Setup
    ------------------
    Unzip the whole thing (config.ini, dlls, YAPC.exe) to C:\YAPC\ (it will only run from this folder, for now)
    Edit settings from config.ini.
    1) Make sure you have .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package. or download from http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/net.../aa731542.aspx
    2) Register AComPort.dll. Run command "regsvr32 C:\YAPC\AComPort.dll"
    3) Change the Port number.(make sure you have the word "COM" in front of the number)
    4) leave Logfilename empty if you don't want to have a log.
    5) for the Dial command, by default is ATD@;
    6) Find out what is your Bluetooth Device Address for your cellphone, goto My Bluetooth Places, click on Bluetooth menu (in between View and Favorites) ->Search for devices. Left click then Right click on your Cellular Phone, select Properties, and you should see your Device Address, it looks something like 00:18:13:01:2f:66. Now,
    you need to convert this from hexadecimal to decimal. You can use windows' calculator to do that, pay attention, you gotta convert it 2 digit at a time, not all together. And when you are done, edit the BDA in the config.ini to your decimal BDA, the format should be like 0,24,19,1,47,102
    7) To embed with your RoadRunner skin, go do a search at the forum and follow the instruction (too lazy to type)

    Note
    ----
    1) I have manage to use WIDCOMM to automatically connect the Audio Gateway when dialing to transfer the voice from the cellphone to the computer. This is the ****. No more workarounds.
    2) It is difficult to setup the whole program, I know. Bear with me on this, as I will sort out everything in the future.
    3) WIDCOMM driver 5.1.0.4200 is used

    Hi chaokoon,

    Thanks for this. I started looking at FreeFone last night, but saw your post this morning. I am asking this out of ignorance - are you trying to solve the problem of not being able to use the CarPC's spearkers/microphone for the phone call? Sounds like it is a Sony Ericsson quirk? If so, then I am on board here. I can connect to my W600i using the Serial connection for phone book and dialing, but can't find a way to use the CarPC as a bluetooth audio headset.

    So, I tried YAPC with the following config.ini:
    [Settings]
    Port=COM12
    BaudRate=9600
    Logfilename=log.txt
    Dial=AT+CKPD="@:J"

    I checked to make sure FreeFone worked with same settings. YAPC throws an error when launching. Here's the error screen and the text when you click on details. Thanks for your effort.

    Sorry about that, I forgot that other computers need to register the ComPort.dll.... So, I added the dll to the zip file and the instruction to register it. Also, a few notes from my personal experience in order for the work around to work, Please let me know if it works. OR NOT!! Thank you.

    Haha... me too. I was about to throw my w810i and myself over the building. But I like my phone too much, so I start coding. Try out the program, it is still in early stages, so Im guessing it has some bugs, and not fully develop like freefone or phonecontrol. But it has the basic functions like reading phonebook, dialing and answering calls....

    I might do Nokia support later. But right now, I still need to get my SE phone to work smoothly first.
