What I'm looking for is the end user's input on how you would like to get new music into the database. I for one, don't plan on having to do a rebuild after adding new music. My current thinking would be a import folder that you would put the new music in and it would move it to the musicpath and import it to the db. Don't know, looking for more idea's or suggestions....
would the import folder mind the directory structure of your music library before moving it into the musicpath? Call me anal but its important to me that my files remain organized with the GENRE\ARTIST\ALBUM structure.

Well I think the idea would be to put the new files in a structure that is the same as the main structure.

ie if you put a new album in the new folder, you put it in under the Genre and the artist and then album, so it gets copied to the same locatin within the main database folder.

That sounds like it would allow any type of music organization to easly be followed.

I'm trying to keep a 'drag n drop' kind of functionality. All I want the user to be able to do is drop the music into the import folder and it will take care of the rest. Makes it really easy for the end users. What are the common folder structs?

    Albums
    Artist > Album
    Genre > Artist > Album

I could just have a combobox with the basic structs and they would specify which one they use and use that when it adds it to the musicpath.

    Well mine would be

    <Artist> -<Album> as a folder name
    <Disk1 or Disk2> if applicable

    and then the songs.

Alright...This is how I am going to do it, there will be a textbox that you will put how your struct is.

ie.. %artist% - %album% and when moving the files the %xxx% will be changed accordingly going by tag info from file.

This solution should allow whatever messed up struct you have....:P But, this means that before song are droped in the folder they should be correctly taged, other wise it could make an unknow folder and place them there.
