This looks great and a fantastic effort to get the coverflow idea working on something less than a supercomputer. Unfortunately I am having some difficulty getting it to run.

    I have 2 problems.

    1. when navigating through the covers, the album text info isnīt syncronized with the cover, ie it will show an album cover and the title of the previous album. The "Album View" folders have the correctly corresponding folder.jpg and playlist info so i assume the builder has worked properly. Any ideas?

    2. OK I am pleeding ignorance here. I have never used playlists and donīt have any idea how they work. Can the commands be easily changed so that they can be the normal "PLAY" command in roadrunner to load the album. If this is a difficult request, can someone humor my ignorance and give me a quick rundown on how to get these playlist working in roadrunner cos at the moment the "SLCTALBUMART" command does nothing for me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Anthony

That's weird...the album text is just the label "LISTTEXT," which takes it's infro from the DL list that's supposed to be hidden in the skin file.

"SLCTALBUMART" is meant to load the album into the playlist.

Can you post your code of the AUDIO_ALBUM_BROWSER.skin file?

sorry for sounding like a n00b,

how can i get this running? using FU skin, and all the skin files point to swf files, so i've been able to get coverflow working, but just not usable with my setup, hence the reason for this new album browser's creation.

i've added all the text to skin.ini and Exectbl.ini and its all dirs pointing to the right location. i just cant figure out how to call the audio_album_player.skin from within FU

    any pointers?

I don't know anything about editting flash files, but I would guess that the flash file where you want to call the album browser needs to be editting to call the AUDIO_ALBUM_BROWSER.skin.

Maybe someone here who knows flash can chime in?

well its partially running, renamed audio_album_player.skin to audio_broswer1.skin and put all the files from albumartviewer folder into the root of ultimate (skin folder) and copied the icons to the icon folder, and now it loads the skin, but i have no icons or display of album art..

slowly getting there.. any more suggestions?

Hi Sal, I tried using this in my skin but didnīt have any luck so I am now using your AUDIO_ALBUM_BROWSER.skin unchanged and from within your MMIv2 skin. (nice looking skin by the way)

I guess the playlist problem may have something to do with my roadrunner or winamp setup. As I said, I have never used a playlist and havenīt the foggiest on what settings need to be made in roadrunner to access them. Here is what is happening........

After selecting the "SLCTALBUMART" button, in the AUDIO_ALBUM_BROWSER.skin it goes to the AUDIO_PLAYER.skin and nothing happens. When I hit your "JTFE" button I get an error popup that tells me the playlist is empty.

I noticed that there is a playlistpath comment in the RR.ini. Where should this be pointing to?

And for the unsynchronized image/text, when the skin loads, it shows the first album image (pre2albumcover) empty, the second (prevalbumcover) as the first cover in my "Album View" directory and the middle cover (crrtalbumcover) has the image from the second album in the directory. The text on top is from the first album in the directory, ie what is showing in prevalbumcover position.

Odly though scrolling through the covers until the last 1/4 of the list, it sychronizes.........

I hope this gives you a magical insight into my problem.

    Thanks again.

You have to rename the audio_broswer1.skin back to audio_album_browser.skin. The script is dependent on the skin filename and it's the script that updates the album art images.

The icons are path dependent in the skin. In the AUDIO_ALBUM_BROWSER.skin file, there are a series of lines:

    Code:
    IMG,133,500,89,50,"icons\clearqueue.png",OUT
    IMG,133,500,89,50,"icons\clearqueue.png",OFF
    IMG,133,500,89,50,"icons\clearqueue.png",ON
    IMG,133,500,89,50,"icons\clearqueue.png",DOWN
    IMG,222,500,89,50,"icons\select.png",OUT
    IMG,222,500,89,50,"icons\select.png",OFF
    IMG,222,500,89,50,"icons\select.png",ON
    IMG,222,500,89,50,"icons\select.png",DOWN
    IMG,311,500,89,50,"icons\selectplus.png",OUT
    IMG,311,500,89,50,"icons\selectplus.png",OFF
    IMG,311,500,89,50,"icons\selectplus.png",ON
    IMG,311,500,89,50,"icons\selectplus.png",DOWN
    IMG,400,500,89,50,"icons\plus1.png",OUT
    IMG,400,500,89,50,"icons\plus1.png",OFF
    IMG,400,500,89,50,"icons\plus1.png",ON
    IMG,400,500,89,50,"icons\plus1.png",DOWN
    IMG,489,500,89,50,"icons\skipto.png",OUT
    IMG,489,500,89,50,"icons\skipto.png",OFF
    IMG,489,500,89,50,"icons\skipto.png",ON
    IMG,489,500,89,50,"icons\skipto.png",DOWN
    IMG,578,500,89,50,"icons\delete.png",OUT
    IMG,578,500,89,50,"icons\delete.png",OFF
    IMG,578,500,89,50,"icons\delete.png",ON
    IMG,578,500,89,50,"icons\delete.png",DOWN
Change "icons" to whatever the name of the folder you dropped the icons into and that'll take care of the icons.

Playlists are accessed the by RR the same way as a normal audio file. Selecting a playlist just clears the current playlist and loads the list of songs in the playlist file.

"SLCTALBUMART" merely tells RR to go into the directory, "SELECT" the playlist, browse "BACK," then display the AUDIO_PLAYER.skin.

You think you can provide a screen cap of the Album View directory? Specifically, the beginning and the end where the images are not sychronized?

Also, can open a playlist generated by the album builder using notepad and post the contents?

Just an update, with the help of EL CAMINO, I'm working on a revision of the album browser that is a lot more process friendly, polls your $musicpath$ directly, can support multiple image and audio file types, and doesn't use playlists anymore.

The process is slow (new to the whole autoIT thing), but I'm getting there.

    Updated the first post.

I urge you all to update to this version as it totally gets rid of the use Album View directory, album playlists, and problems associated w/ it.

Let me know how it goes.

This one was fairly complicated for me and I'm sure bugs will come up, but I have tested it extensively in my carPC and didn't find anything...unusual.
