I am having problems with getting a com port failure, I think it may be my failure but could anyone who is trying it confirm this? I think I may need to slow down the automation on vag-com startup, but it could also be my cable or onboard computer; Hopefully it's the software because both of those things are expensive

I'll pull out the vag connection today and try hitting it with some de-oxit and see if that helps.

Okay, I have done some bug fixes. The files at links 1 and 2 have been updated.

    Bug fixes:

Fixed bug that caused program to exit after only 2 minutes

Added code that waited for communications to be established before going into the block read section

Added a 1 second delay after clicking on measure blocks before text fields are updated, this allows the form to load fully before the measure blocks are selected. Prior to this the automation occasionally ran too fast for vagscope causing a failure.

Tom:: can you confirm that these changes are working for you?

I would be more than happy to include your skin with my releases. I will probably be keeping the current skin up as well simply because I like the simplicity of it, but I would be willing to help you develop yours.

one note is that you may want to have the background executable be run when RR starts up rather than when you enter the skin for some technical reasons with the communications between the software and car. I will be making these changes to mine when I have time as well.

Will you eventualy implement support for guages and maybe some graphs output by vagscope?
    is that something thats possible?
I think it would be very nice to have guages and would definetly make your app VERY popular as it could be ported to any frontend im sure...

gauges are possible but definitely not easy.

I would not know how to do it within roadrunner, you would have to create a standalone app and then import it into roadrunner.

My original intent had been to do gauges but I abandoned it when i realized how hard it would be. If you were able to create gauges in RR I would be more than happy to include support in my code for them, but you have to figure out how to make it work and tell me what you need

If you decide to go the standalone route, I will update the standalone code with my latest updates, but after that you'll probably have to maintain it...I don't have the time to maintain two seperate code bases :/

You can do rotating gauges in flash. You can do sliders (progress bar like) natively in RR.

Cool, Thanks guino. Honestly I like the simplicity of this design. If someone wanted to create a skin for people to use I would be more than willing to help them, but I don't really want to develop another skin
