I have done some more testing and think I have found a bug in the plugin.

[Startup]
DTR=ON
RTS=OFF

Works as expected.

[Startup]
DTR=OFF
RTS=ON

Both outputs are active when SS starts up.

also your installer is broken as mentioned by mpfjr. i get the exact same symptoms.

Um, the installer installs to Road Runner not RoadRunner. Some older versions of Road Runner were set to RoadRunner folder. This is wrong. I would suggest backing up and installing to Road Runner folder as some older hard coded stuff is broken the other way.
As for the ports SerialSwitch does not control anything until it is loaded. I just tested it and I see where I am not saving to ini on close. Thank you for testing and reporting back. I have updated the zip file in the first post.

I had a win with this in the end! it was a very late night though.

I gave up on using the PL2303X IC directly and tried a USB com port that I had lying around (also prolific chipset).

The RS232 driver IC on the USB - serial converter solve the problem I was having with startup. Now the DTR / RTS lines sit at 0V during startup, and -6v when initialised. Both of these states will not drive a FET = problem solved!

I now have a very simple circuit consiting of a PL2303X based USB - serial converter and 2 infineon BSP742T highside FET drivers as outputs.

SerialSwitch is in my startup folder, and sets DTR high to power up my amp when it loads.

I have added commands to my radio button to power the antenna when the radio button is pressed, and put it back down when "audio" is pressed. This is obviously done on the RTS line. works a treat!

Just want to say a big thanks for this software. my antenna used to clip my garage door every time i started the car. Now it is only up when its needed!

You should probably add a link to the serial enumeration stuff in your instructions. Without removing enumeration on this particular port this software would be useless. My antenna would just bouncing up and down until windows finished loading

Your software should be flexible enough to install to whatever location people have installed RR to. There is no rule that RR needs to be installed in "Road Runner".

I dont use the RR installer. My roadrunner directory is c:\roadrunner

Your installer is hard coded to c:\program files\Road Runner. That is wrong..

Once I manually copied the files to c:\roadrunner\serialswitch it worked fine. Your installer created the directory for me, it just put the files elsewhere (c:\program files\Road Runner)

I dont want to sounds like I am having a shot at you, just trying to clarify the bug. Again many thanks for the software.

Hey mate

I just tested 4.2 of your software.

The installer seems to work now. It installed to c:\test folder\SerialSwitch no problem.

The startup bug is still there though:

[Startup]
DTR=ON
RTS=OFF

Works. Start SerialSwitch - DTR is enabled. RTS is disabled

[Startup]
DTR=OFF
RTS=ON

Bug. Start SerialSwitch - Both RTS and DTR are enabled. Your software says that DTR is disabled but the pin is actually enabled.

I only needed DTR to come up on startup so that is how I got aroun the problem. It is there though..
