GPS Heading Indicator Fixed & Upgraded [ Updated 12/10/08 ]
So...
Because of the whole GPS "Heading" indicator not working for the longest time, I decied that a
fix was in order and created a solution for it as well as improved upon it.
The changes are as follows:
#1 New ind is called "Heading2" (just need to do a find/replace all in your skin files)
#2 Now accepts either jpg or png file extions, it will use whatever is on the N.xxx/N_1.xxx ind graphic
#3 The ind can also indicate the Signal strength by changing the ind color by the number of satellites,
meaning...weak(1-4), fair(5-6), good(7+)
#4 Also uses NA.png for no GPS signal
How to use the new indicator
To use the signal strength you must have the additional indicator graphics. These new
graphic indicator file names are the direction(N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W,NW) followed by a _x.(jpg/png),
where x is 1-3 using the above as the guide lines. So "N_1.png" would be north with a weak signal
where as "SE_3.png" would be southeast with a good satellite signal.

Settings:
-------------
GPSIndFolder=*
* - this is the folder name in the skin folder and NOT the whole path, for the extra graphic files or
if left blank or not used, will look in the dll's path for an "Indicators" folder for the graphics
I have tested this on all versions from 4/12/07 - Current beta(weather fix), and they all work!
In the zip, I have included:
GPSIndFix.dll
_Install.cmd (to register it)
_Uninstall.cmd (to unregister it)
24 iG style Heading2 indicators (26px x 26px) to either use or test with
1 NA.png for no GPS signal
This Readme.txt
If you do not know, you'll need to:
put the GPSIndFix folder in your "Road Runner\Plugins" folder
Run the _Install.cmd file
Put "X,GPSINDFIX" in your menu.skin file, or Plugins.txt file of the skin folder if it has one.
Any problems just let me know, shouldn't really be any! Or if you have a futher suggestion post that as well.
