It uses all the info from RR. So what ever port you are using for RR will work.

That's one of his problems, he uses sygic, so RR at present does not get a GPS feed.

As he says he will need to use a COM splitter (Xport), However he wants to simulate data going to both sygic and RR on his desktop (at least that's the way I read it).

    GPS Simulation.

    1. You could use GPSGate, it's also a comsplitter but I believe it also does simulation. (but it is not free like xport)

    2. you could get a Virtual port program (again they are not free), feed it a NMEA log.

    3. Have a program on a second computer feed info from a NMEA log to itt's comport, join the two PC's together wit a NULL modem cable and then run xport.

With both 2 and 3 you will need to of obtained a NMEA log, if you need help with this I have a program that will do this.

Also with 2 and 3 you will need a program to send the NMEA log to a com port, again I have a program that can do this.

If I was you, I would use XPORT, I use it and it works awsome.

How do you undertake home testing i.e. testing on desktop and not in the car?

I'm just a little unsure how to configure RR. Currently its set to external app i.e. Sygic, but do how do I also set it for RR GPS?

I know its one of them thing thats simple you've done it but just can't see it at the moment. I'm also wanting to set up Gammaswitch to use the saved RR lat/long so it will be great to get it sorted.

    Cheers,

thunderstick ... i don't mean to rain on your parade, but don't most GPS programs have this functionality now built into them ?

D7 definately has it, and I'm nearly sure that GMPC also has it !

But excellent work my the way ...

Unfortunately Sygic doesn't, hence my request (I'm claiming no credit as it's 100% Thunderstick's work) for someone with Thunderstick's skills to create such a plugin. I'm grateful to Thunderstick for the speed of initial development and subsequent modification.

Dont want to rain on your parade but really no, not all of them do. I have read that even GMPC can have problems with out a serial port splitter.
