Um so you can be watching your stocks go down on your way to/from work..hehe
Another interesting thought...
Has anyone given any thought to creating a stock ticker type plugin?
I have no development skills so I am just throwing a request out there![]()

Well a start would be you doing some of the foot work and finding a site that can supply such data.
Then maybe one of our wonderful developers here can try and make a plugin from it.
find me a site thats easy to scrape and i'll work one up. Long as ya dont go tryin to sue me for invalid information lol

indeed i haveand it shouldnt be too difficult. Movietimes does the same task so it'd be easy to port. The finance section of http://m.yahoo.com has some stock information but its not in a ticker format and its delayed by 20 mins. But it would allow users to specify which stocks they wanna pull data from and give all of this information:

Delayed quotes are fine I think for real time you have to pay anyways'
And no I will not sue you sonic LOL
You may want to try to use something like iGoogle. You can add a stock section to your igoogle page, and add the stocks you want to monitor in it.
There are a lot of pages like this that you can customize...
This would allow someone to set up the stocks they want to monitor, and keep the scripting aspect wayyyyy down, as all you would then need to do is just scrape the displayed stocks that you want to monitor on a single page.
Otherwise, in the skin, you have to have a search for stock, and keep track of them in an ini, Then each time you display stocks, read the ini, search for each stock individually to get the results, slowing things way down, and a lot more chance of something breaking
Just a thought.....

sounds like development talk to meI can set my stocks in IGoogle but thats about all I can do
Would be cool to be able to have a ticker type thing available like in your Main Screen for DFX on top of the Information area if you have stocks enabled it loops the ticker type thing..
