New Idea: Song annoucer

I would like to suggest to the developers who are out of ideas: a plugin that would announce the next artist and song to be played in a playlist.

It could use Text-To-Speech engines (for SAPI5, and other on request) that will announce you the artist and title of a song that starts playing. When you randomize over a huge library or playlist, and you have no idea what's coming next, and you don't want to check the display everytime (perhaps to tell somebody else in the back who can't read it, this can be pretty cool. Useful also for Electronic/instrumental music, which sometimes are hard to tell one from another.

I think this could be pretty cool, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement. I got the idea from this plugin for MediaMonkey:

Looking at the winamp site "tellmewhatsplaying" or "DJamp" seems the best. i tried winamp talking in like 2003 but all i wanted was for it to announce what artist I just opened (my carputer didnt have a monitor and was controlled with a gamepad (mindtwist plugin) and random folder (instant disc plug in) picker) but i have never used any of the others.

i used tellmewhatsplaying ages ago and it worked fine. Just got annoying after awhile.. especially why skipping thru tracks.

Thanks for the info, didn't know about any of that. How do you set up with RR? Suggestion? I can't think of leaving it always on...

use this code to make RR say what ever value you have in label or variable.
i.e. with this code RR will say artist and title.

"SAY" only works when set in RR.ini. (VoiceEnabled=True). I have mine setup not to use the voice in RR as it speaks alot of garbage by its own. When set to false, you can still have RR speaking lables a variables with the "TALK" command.
