I'd really love to see this finished up and released as well. I do have steering wheel controls working for most everything, but I still have to frequently take my eyes off the road to scroll through artists and songs and what not. Because of that, I feel that voice control would be a much safer way to control the Car PC, so if the DLL is released and can be made to work under Windows 7 I'd be a happy camper.

I found the RRVoice.dll link a few pages back. And while I would like to just wait for JohnWB to push out DFX5 I still want voice control.
My question is how would I go about using RRVoice.dll conrrectly? I am currently using the executable.
Any insight would be useful.
Great project!
I used the setup to put two hidden buttons in the center of the my screen. My issue there is the buttons work. I am using a spinning logo and the "hidden" buttons leave a hole in the center.
What would be the fix for that.
Hi there,
I've finally got around to doing more to my Car PC and really would like Voice Control. Can I just ask someone to quickly brief me on what files I need (as the first post is dated Sept 09 - btw not a dig at OP, more like I not as good at this as some)?
Also, what is the current microphone of choice?
Thanks guys.......

A - "Open RideRunner to expose RR's API" this means run RideRunner. RideRunner will initialize it's variables and any plugin that needs those values will be able to retrieve them.
B - "Open RRVoiceControl to set ini vars from RR" Here you start the RRVoiceControl (plugin) program. It will start and minimize itself, you will see it on the windows system tray.
C - Right click on it and pop it up, then Open RRVConfig and Click the "Create" Button and let it find your MP3 and WMA files. This will take a while depending upon how many music files you have. I had 18,000. It is making voice command for each of the music files.
I hope this helps, go back to the original instructions and continue the setup from there.

I Will be the first to say that I was sorta worried about the exe becoming the dll (slowing RR's loading time) but, and that is a BIG but...it is mountains faster loading than the exe version!!!!!!!! And that is on my M10K w/ 512 of ram. The exe version would take ~1.5 mins to load, slowing down the whole system in the process, not any more.
Awesome work thus far on the complete RRVC ext dll.
Would be nice if there was some Documentation w/ this new dll though. There are now some extra executed cmds and my head has gone swimming with the flow of the whole thing.
Next request, could you add a "ONRRVCSTARTUP" and "ONRRVCSHUTDOWN" events, as DFX5.0 has a overlay for when its listing and would be nice to just allow the PI to help manage it.
