I installed Voice Control last night on a windows 7 32bit PC in a VMware test PC.

All went well except when I ran RRVConfig.exe it cant handle my media path C:\users\tom\music.

I would keep searching for music but not find it.

I changed RRVoicecontrol INI path to this C:\Users\Tom\Desktop, then I moved the music folder there it finds it instantly.

Is there a way to use my original path C:\users\tom\music, or the root of another drive like D:?

Just noticed after I closed RRVConfig then opened it again RRVoicecontrol ini reverted back to C:\users\tom\music.

I could see that being an issue but permissions seem open.

I am on the PC locally no shares setup.

I thought I saw some threads with people having issues with the file location, as in wanting to put music on an external drive.

I am confused as to what I should put where in the Exectbl.ini.

I would like to have the skin initiate the command to have RRvoiceControl listen through a gesture on the screen.

Or a long press of one of the icons.

I have elite, here is the ini contents please tell me what to add and where.

Thanks for all the hard work on this Jebus.

Another small handy request, could we have a cmd to dynamically add global VCommands on the fly. Eg..."RRVC_AddCmd;<listen cmd>;<exec cmd>"

Could someone please post there RRvoicecontrol.ini? I cannot get commands to show up when on certain skins, only under global.
    If i put
    [audio_visuals.skin]
    back=visu||exit
nothing happens, the "back" command does not even show up in RRvoicecontrol.
But if i delete the [audio_visuals.skin] then the "back" command works, but its global and i only want it to work on the visual skin.

Some VERY late beta reports on the .dll

It will work just like any other RR Dll.

I didn't think anyone was even interested anymore.
And I have been occupied by other projects.
I know JohnWPB has a copy, He's testing it in DFX5.
    Are people really using RRVoiceControl?
I havn't heard from him since I killed his worklog thread.

    Jebus:

YES people are using it! It is the best thing to come to RR in a LONG time!

I am so sorry I have been out of the loop for a while. I have had LOTS of stuff going on here to, as well as just getting back from China after being there for a month and a half.

I have been working a lot on the skin lately, getting ready for the next release, and finally had the time to give the beta .dll a try. It loads a LOT faster at RR startup, and is very accurate... thats the good

On the other side, I am having a severe lag on the computer when it is loaded as a RR plugin. When I issue the RRVCON command, the CPU spikes to almost 100% for about 10 seconds, after that, I can issue a command, then the CPU spikes again for another 10 seconds or so.

When it is just idle, the skin is very, very, laggy. Pressing a button on the screen can take 5 seconds or so till the screen changes. So, I pressed the settings button, plugin manager button, selected RRVC in the list, and clicked disable (Took like 30 seconds to get to that point haha). Soon as I disabled it, the computer went back to its normal fast operation, and can switch screens as fast as I can move the mouse and click.

I am thinking there probably is some sort of loop in the source code, with no SLEEP command, or somewhere that needs a timer to keep the loop from running through so fast, it hogs up the CPU.

The other thing that comes to mind, maybe you are polling something in RR to fast, with no timer? Not sure what could be polling though, as I would think it just sits and waits idle till it sees the RRVCON or an ONSCREEN change command.

To help narrow it down, the lag happens constantly, not just when screens are changed. If I run the mouse around the screen, you can see buttons highlight under the pointer, then just freeze with one highlighted for a few seconds.

I certainly hope you do continue to work on this, (As well as MANY, MANY other people) as I have catered the DFX skin completely around it Changing buttons and labels on buttons and screens so just about anything on the screens can be spoken as a command

Ya, Ive been busy with other things also lately. I have purchased a Megasquirt EFI for my bronco, Changing engines and going to an auto trans. It's almost summer and I want it to roll...

I'm gonna need a debug.txt from the plugin... Just click on the word "Normal" on the RRVoice.dll FORM and it will change to "Debug". This will start debugging to the debug.txt in the plugin's folder....The timestamps on the events called will be helpfull for this.

I'm on RR 4/1/10 and there is no lag with the plugin here, but that doesn't mean anything...

I have a weeks Vac coming up the 31st, I will be able to focus on this, and complete it for release.

    How's that Fiero coming along...

    ...JJG

edit: How did you get it to show up in the plugin manager, I tried with DFX4 and couldn't, I thought I was missing something in the plugin.
