Configured SAPI and my microphone finally. Opened RRvoice and attempted to set my default path which is D:\Music. It found 3 out of 6,000 songs. On another note I followed the test directions and when I say "Select Menu" it recognizes it as it should, however when in RR none of the commands I issue do anything.

I do have one problem, I can not seem to get around though..... I have no voice commands for artists. Under artists in the Music.ini, they are all album titles, and not artists:

    [Settings]
MusicCmdStatus=You Have 34252 Voice Command Songs!
    [Artists]
Load Stiff Upper Lip=K:\MP3\ACDC\Stiff Upper Lip
Load The Razors Edge=K:\MP3\ACDC\The Razors Edge
    Load Anomaly=K:\MP3\Ace Frehley\Anomaly
    Load Ruthless=K:\MP3\Ace Hood\Ruthless
Load The Bridge=K:\MP3\Ace of Base\The Bridge
Load The Sign=K:\MP3\Ace of Base\The Sign
Load A Little South Of Sanity=K:\MP3\Aerosmith\A Little South Of Sanity
    Load Aerosmith=K:\MP3\Aerosmith\Aerosmith
    Load Big Ones=K:\MP3\Loverboy\Big Ones

I can't say for instance, "Load Ace of Base", I have to know the album name and say that instead. For instance, "Load The Sign" does work perfectly.

I have my folders structured as around 90% of other people, with the Root MP3 Folder, then artist folders in there, and in each artist folder, I have folders for each album by that artist.
    John,
If you look @ RRVoiceControl.ini, in the Settings section, the Key of DefaultLoadMusic=Artists you see that it is an arbitrary value. It can be anything, fred, would work. I am still using just the last folder name.
I understand yours, and most peoples structure of music. I am currently trying to figure out a way to do this. It is a little problematic to code that that way for setting up the commands. ie: when to call a parent folder an artist and when to call a sub folder an album. I will try to give an example.
Say some one had it a little different than that and had one more folder under an album folder. Is that folder above it an artist or album? I think I have some ideas, tags comes to mind as one, but I wanted to get the base code bugs out first. If you have some suggestions, please speak up. I will keep working towards the Artist/Album structure. I will PM you when I come up with something.
Obviously we have gotten that first bug squashed, finding random files everywhere when using other drive letters? True?

    Doug,
Open RR's SkinTool log and then open RR and RRVoiceControl. Are the commands getting to RR. You should see them in SkinTool's Log. A debug.txt from RR with all this running would be helpful.
I have a new beta version, with extensive debugging, out to testers but it involves a beta version of RideRunner.exe., If your willing to try it and have an FTP client, PM me.

Yes! Very True, and I am sorry for failing to mention that! It is really coming along nicely.

Here is a trick I used for my cover art browse thing in my skin

I look at the path, and search for audio files.

So if the path we are checking is

    D:\MP3s\Abba

Then check that folder for *.mp3/*.wma. If none exist, then this is just a directory of folders, get each one of the folder names in this folder, and go deeper into each one. So, when you get to:

    D:\MP3s\Abba\Gold\

and there are *.mp3's now we have the music files, so grab the names of the music files, (Song titles) and we already know the artist (one directory off the top) is the artist, and the folder name we are now in is the album name.

Now if the mp3 files are dumped directly in the:

    D:\MP3s\Abba

then it will find *.mp3/wma at the first folder level, and not have to continue any deeper.

This way it SHOULD work with just about any collection that is fairly organized.

I hope this makes sense hahah!

Lastly for a rock solid approach, maybe Blue could make a tiny script to export the RMMedia DB to a .ini file. The DB already contains all the album names, song titles and artists..... This would take a a script just a few seconds to make the .ini needed for the VR engine from the already existing database.

Did you read all of the first post.
There are some commands, that need to be in your SKINS Exectbl.ini.
What SKIN are you using, I have only been developing with DFX4, but it should give commands to any skin with adjustments to the menu commands in RRVoiceControl.ini.
REMEMBER, this is BETA, I am developing this as I go.
There is a bug in the posted version , now fixed in new version not released yet, pertaining to having your music on drives other than C:. Although it did find music for many on other drives.
The menu commands worked just fine in version 1.0
Again, Read the first post completely and you should be up and running.

You said it recognized your command "SELECT MENU".
Did it send it to RR?
If you were on the MENU screen already in DFX4, Nothing would have visibly happened with "SELECT MENU" cause you were already there.
    Did RR execute the command?
Try clicking the word "VR OFF" in RRVoiceControl, and SAY "SELECT AUDIO", It should change to the audio screen.

I can't help if I don't have any debug info to go on.
Read JohnWPB's post above. It works.
I want to help, but you won't let me.

All this is noted and thinking...........

I wonder if Blue is busy, fixing RRConfig....

...and I did invite him to test RRVoiceControl 1.1.0.55

I am using DFX 4, and DO NOT know how i missed about putting those lines in the exectbl ini. I said "select menu" with RRvoice open and it went to the menu list. I opened RR and tried it, this before adding lines to the ini. I am having more microphone issues right now and cant get what you need..Im sure it's error on my end and appreciate the help. I will report back when i get my microphone issues sorted out.

    thanks a lot!

Got it working, sort of..Everytime I issue a command to RRvoice within RR the Volume Zero's.? If I say "Select Music" it will go to the music skin but the volume zero's? Now every time I issue a command VR turns off and has to be manually turned back on to issue another command..What did I miss? How do you get it to stay on?
