    1) when RR starts, voice control is looking for a command, not a keyword. The problem is until issued a command it will never go back to looking for a keyword. There was no voice.ini setting I could find to fix this.

What it should do: when RR starts it should be looking only for the keyword when set to keyword=yes in the ini.

    2) The volume set in the voice.ini does not work, it is always at 100 %, the only way to change this is to actually move the volume slider on voice control after the program starts. That will change the volume, but when the program is restarted it is back to 100%.

What it should do: voice.ini volume should take effect when the program starts, and moving the volume slider shoud update the ini value for future use.

    1) If you use it in combination with a hotkey it will work ok. Using it without a hotkey, would lead to false commands (which is only normal...)

    2) Wierd...imine stays on 70% all the time...

So far very impressed with this software. Low CPU utilization footprint, great for us Epia boards. Also the cabin noise does not confuse the recognition like other speech programs.

I ran into an issue tonight that was very strange. After saying the command "computer" with no reponse I said it again then once more. RoadRunner seemed to lock up. I just listend to whatever what was playing, about 5 mins later I heard... Yes, yes, yes then RoadRunner was controlable again.

(it was kind of of funny cause I use a female AT&T voice Crystal is her name, so hearing yes, yes, YES made my day)

Any idea what caused it? I will see if it happens again.

It also seems to pick up the command word computer from what ever I am listening to from time to time, occaisionally I hear Yes but I have not said anything.

anyone think we should get a sub forum for this as a support software? this thread is going to get long

also, outside of microsoft mike, mary and sam (or whoever it is), what voices can be used with this? any that actually sound decent? I tried the "more human" pronunciation and it doesn't work well at all.

Also as a problem: iGmod doesn't seem to work with this voice control system

I have read on other threads that the AT&T Natural voices are the best so far, but they are expensive although they sound good. Try this link for some demos of AT&T and downloads of older free voices at the bottom of the page.
Lernout & Hauspie's voices seem much better than the microsoft ones.

Another small issue, the mouse seems to disappear from RoadRunner, just the arrow if you move the mouse you can see that it is still there because on mouse over the buttons change color.

So are you running Windows Vista? Or did you find a download for her voice? If you are running Vista, I beleive that is SAPI 5.3! It would be nice to know that programming done now will not have to be revisited for 5.3.

The NeoSpeech voices are supposed to be second to AT&T's, you get two voices male/female for about $35 US.

Here is a good place to compare:

RR hides the mouse in different modes, there is a setting in the rr.ini hidemouse I don't know if this would help you. I am basically just converting voice commands to button presses, so it should not behave any different than the version without voice.
