Thread: Integrated voice control in RR...

I had been having standby problems and whodwho was kind enough to look into it and come up with a fix. I thought that had solved the problem but it seems I am still intermittently having trouble:
When I standby and then resume, speech is not recognized. Mic is not muted and I don't believe volume is turned down, but the only way to get recognition to work again is to go Ctl Panel -> Speech -> Configure microphone and run the wizard. After "Windows adjust the volume of my microphone" (man, I've said that sentence hundreds of times now...) all is good and RR speech recognition is back in business, like a champ.
So how can I run a command on resume to reinitialize/readjust/re-whatever my microphone so that SAPI will survive standby?? Seems to be a SAPI problem, not a problem with whodwho's code.
Can't say it enough, btw, awesome addition to RR!!
P.S. This papaya takes perfect.

Have you tried reinstalling the 5.1 entirely? Sounds like a program glitch possibly. Also, are you using one of the three microsoft voices, Mike, Mary or Sam? I seem to remember weird things occuring with other voices.

If thats the case, then I'd imagine he has the Modded IGuidance (patched with bigger buttons), and then it would use another {down} in the FIND GAS. BTW anyone remember the name of the patch or have a link to the post with the patch for BIG button IGuidance?

Whodwho, are you going to provide a complete update with all the changes to your first post again?

This sounds just what I have been looking for...
Currently using NaviVoice, and need to change Boris or "B.O.R.I.S" to something more befitting a female voice without upsetting the missus. A perfect excuse.

As to testing with Iguidance, I would be most happy to oblige. It seems that the menus are slightly different between versions of Iguidance, as Rosebud6 has noticed. For example in NaviVoice speaking "Favorites" takes you to "Recent" in Iguidance version 2.1.2UK which I use. There are other commands such as "Carpool" which I don't think are applicable to the european version either.

I have to say I have just downloaded this and had a play and it is a good effort for some technology that is still not 100%. It works alot better than any of other voice software I have used.

However I have a challenge for you. Which may relate slightly to the dictation part of the app.

Do you think it would be possible to either by dictation or by creating some sort of XML voice script creator (that you would run manually everytime you updated your archive). To add all playlists and mp3 filenames (and any other media you may want). So that when you are in say your playlist folder rather than having to select the filename by scrolling up and down. You could just read it out and roadrunner would select it?

That is the dream.

A problem that I foresee with this, is that currently there is no way to jump to a specific song in RR unless you used searchlist. In which case, the searchlist command would have to be execute with text in the OSK.
