iGMon - Solution for integration between iGuidance and Road Runner (I hope)

ive had success (although im having some problmes now) using iGLaunch. use iGLaunch to remove the menus from iGuidance. This is just an exe file with an ini file. in the iGLaunch.ini you will want to point to your iguidance executable. The window name of the app should be iGuidance (as this is the embedded program). Now, once you have that part working, you should be able to run iGLaunch by itself and you should see iguidance embedded with the menus stripped out. Then, you need to go to your RR config and set the GPS to external. Now point RR to your iGLaunch executable and make sure the window name is set up as iGLaunch. so now you should have iGuidance nicely embedded into your GPS skin within RR. Now comes iMon. set iMon to look for iGLaunch as well and then you should have it working.

@b8bboi: have you seen the iMon.ini file being changed for any reason other than when you run the configuration wizard?? I could have sworn that my ini file keeps changing on me for some reason. Ive set the read-only attrib so hopefully that will keep it from changing. strange...

I've had it running for a while now and have a couple of issues/questions. I'm using 2.1.2NA with the blue 800x600 CFX skin:

1. The gray pop-up next turn indicator doesn't come up every time and when it does it doesn't contain any information about the next turn. It usually just says "Next Turn" and has the number 3.

2. I am unable to switch to full screen. It's no big deal, and I'm really just looking for confirmation that full screen isn't supposed to work.

3. I'm using the XPort3 com port splitter. Before installing IGMon both the RR speed limit indicator (port 8) and IG (port 9) were working. After the IGMon install the RR speed limit indicator no longer works. Auto-zoom in IGMon doesn't work for me either so I'm assuming that the install somehow messed up my RR port setting. Can someone tell me how to reset the RR port setting? My rr.ini shows my nav as port 9, which is correct, but is there a separate rr.ini setting that determines the port that RR will use?

No, iGMon doesn't write to the INI at all. I just trippled checked my code. Keep an eye on this.

1. Please do/answer the following.
- do you use a modified version of iGuidance.exe?
- I HIGHLY recommend using Jusintime's big button mod. The popup and the magnified next turn distance box will work significantly better.
- do you embed it in iGLaunch, iGSkinner or Skinbedder?
- post a screen shot of iGuidance running (embedded in RR) when you're in direction mode
- post your IGHeightOffset and MapScaleLocationY
- (optional) this is for you to debug. (I suggest you do this while not driving in the car.) Inside iGMon.ini, go to [ParseNextTurnStreet], set DebugMode=1. Run iGMon. Then enter an address so that iGuidance is put in direction mode. Look at the top part of the map where the next street name occurs. You should see a gray box flashing and covering it. If you don't see it, there's something wrong in your iGMon.INI set up.

2. What do you use to switch to fullscreen? Do you hit the fullscreen button on my skin? If so, you'll have to edit ExecTBL.ini. Then find the line where it references SkinBedder.exe and remove that. PM me with the content of ExecTBL.ini (the one inside CFX 800x600). I'll show you what to fix.

3. iGMon installation doesn't modify your RR setting at all. It doesn't even know where RR is located. (If your RR GPS port is not set up right, Auto Zoom won't work). In rr.ini, set "gpsport=8" AND "mappointport=8". Try it again without iGuidance and iGMon running. Then bring up iGuidance and see if both work. Also, there might be a problem with XPort. Check XPort to make sure it's still mapped to the original GPS port.

b8bboi, I just installed your software but when I run IG now I see the menu bar. I'm using LSX Void and he has a modified IGuidance.exe file. I selected the option of which you're using to Skinbedder. Why is the menu bar still showing up?

Civic, iGMon doesn't remove the menu bar for you. That's the job of SkinBedder. I suggest you get LSX Void and SkinBedder work outside of iGMon first, ie. when you click on the Navi button, you'll see IG embedded without the menu bar. After all that is working, you can try iGMon.

Yeah it was working until I stalled IGMon just now. Do you know what may hav caused this? Also now that I'm trying to run the wizard again I get an error and it aborts. I'll try and get the error message for you.
