    Quattro, you need to try them out. I run mine on an MII and yes they jump, but this is because I have set the frame rate to 2 frames per second, so the updates only happen every half a second. Depending on what you are driving you may or may not have a problem. My MII runs pretty close to 100% full time with 5 clocks on 1 screen, so I can't tell if the jumps are due to lack of cpu cycles, or anything else. The data from the GPS only comes in every second anyway, so if you are accelerating hard in a fast car, you are always going to get a jumpy effect.

    Hope this helps

    I know that you only get updates from the GPS every second so thats why you get the jumping. But if the needles were actually coded to go in a circular motion from on point to a nother it doesn't matter if the updates are every 1 seconds. it'll still sweep around the dial.
    So if your telling me they jump in your setup then most likely its isn't coded the way I want it. I'll probably have to do it myself.

    Sorry Quattro, I didn't understand fully your question. If do you do get to code them, I would be interested. I have only know enough Flash to hack at other developers code. These clocks matched my skin, but killed my computer, so I have learned enough from these threads to change them a little.

    Good luck with the project

    I think what he means is even though the (nmea) speed updates once a second, he wants to update the clocks at say 10fps, in which case he needs to store the old speed, subtract that from the new speed to get the (+/-) difference, and add (fps/100) of that value to the current needle value........

    eek.

    like this

    old speed 40mph

    new speed 50mph

    difference =10mph

    sweep value=10mph / frame rate (1mph)

    needle position = needle postion+sweep value

    The above has errors, see if you can spot them........

    How about this:

    A speedo (0 to 100km/u or 0-60mph). When u start driving from zero, a counter starts. When u reach 100km/u, the counter stops. Everytime u are back to 0 km/u, the counter resets, but remembers the fastest time. This can be very handy for tuners, but it's also a cool feature just to play with...

    Is this possible?

    If your using the gps signal for your results then this is not a good idea. You might not get update from the gps at exactly 60mph, the next update might be at 75 so, the timer will record until then. So this won't be very reliable.

    It would be up to a second off at the worst, but still in the ball park.

    OBD-II info would be your best bet, but i'm not aware of any integration with flash in that department.

    @DiNASTY

    quick question, does your flash gauge in Flashdeck have a sweeping motion from one position to the next or does it jump after every update?
