excellent thanks for that information. this plugin has been what all roadrunner users have been waiting for! you said it right in the first few sentences of the first post.
keep it up.
replicant,
Thanks for the kind words.
I've password protected my work... So don't mess with it!
You'll find the title in the taskbar, currently it is:
(that's four spaces between the 'l' and the 'v')Code:Jump to File Plugin -- External Control v0.92b
The title will obviously change as the version number changes, but I'll hold off to the same formatting for now.

Bugs Fixed (since v0.94b):
- Switched to the current JTFP Build 49 (from Build 20!)
- Changed back to the standard, unskinnable base plugin Winamp -- arguably faster on load
- Removed unnecessary variables
To make it compatible, please re-follow the pre-installation instructions.
(They make look the same at first glance, but they're very different)
What to look out for:
If you have 1000+ songs in your playlist, you will notice a slower performance at first.
My SmartDelay function does its best to keep things moving as soon as the first couple of letters are entered in the filter.
Basically, the less songs in the left window, the faster the program operates.
This is the first Beta release since the change in the main JTF plugin.
If you experience weird problems with it, please post here.
Thanks!![]()

I tried v0.96b in my car the other day, and I couldn't believe how slow it was with a 2,000 song list.
Why didn't anybody complain that this thing was so unbelievably slow?
Bugs Fixed (since v0.96b):
- Improved search time by 70+ percent!
- Better handling of the PgUp / PgDn / Up / Dn OSK commands
- More accurate OSK searches (due to efficiency impovements)
- Takes significantly less CPU resources
- Cancel button works every time

DJiK, to be honest, i just considered it a byproduct of this being beta. I will say this new version is HOT, SUPER fast on my Asus Pundit-R setup. My baol coming up soon is to at the very least set it up as that external app and map it as a standard button to replace roadrunner's built in "searchlist" command.
I can't wait for final release! It works so incredibly well already. Great job. P.S. you have a place to send some donation cash? I figure I can spare some dough and not eat dinner a couple days. This is by far the most time saving and useful plugin thus far.

Bugs Fixed (since v0.98b):
- v0.98b would crash after pressing 'Enter' when searching via the keyboard
- Unnecessary functions removed
- Unnecessary variables removed
- Unnecessary delay timers removed
- Priority by button size is set (largest button = highest priority)
I'm glad you like my program!
What is it about your baol? I didn't get that...
Thanks again! And please, keep your food on the table...
I'll set up a donation account once I know for sure this app is good enough to be released officially.

This sounds like a FANTASTIC addition to RR! I just downloaded and ran into problems:
First:
Should that read "General PURPOSE"?"# On the left panel: Under 'General Preferences' click on 'Jump To File'"
I ask, as I am running Winamp 2.95 and am not sure if you are refering to a different version.
When I choose "General Purpose" the "Jump to file 0.97.7 (Build 49)" is listed. When I try to configure it, another window pops to the front, all white, and Winamp locks up tight, and have to end task it.
I am running Winamp 2.95, as I have heard of many problems with newer versions working properly with RR.
Any suggestions?

My Fiero Build Thread
Hi John,
Thanks for trying out my program...
Although I use Winamp 5.24 without a problem, I went ahead and download 2.95 to troubleshoot it for you.
In Winamp v2.95, yes.
Here's how I overcame this problem in Winamp v2.95:
Prerequisites:
- A fresh install of Winamp v2.95, downloadable here
- A copy of gen_jumpex.dll (of version 0.97.7 -- build 49). Attached here
Instructions:
- Browse to Winamp's Plugin folder through 'My Computer' (i.e. "C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins")
- Extract the file 'gen_jumpex.dll' to the Plugins folder
- Open Winamp (or restart Winamp if it was previously open)
- Focus on the main window and press Ctrl+P
- On the left panel: Under 'Plugins' click on 'General Purpose'
- From the list on the right, choose 'Jump To File Extra v0.97.7 (Build 49)'
- Click on the 'Configure' button
- In the new window labeled "Jump To File", be sure you're looking at the very first tab: 'Enqueue Options'
- Towards the right-hand edge of the screen, click on the 'Defaults' button
- Close the window
- Close Winamp Preferences
- While maintaining focus on Winamp's main window, press 'J' on the keyboard.
- Play around with the original plugin to be sure everything is functional.
- Read post #1 and read the rest of the instructions there.
- ENJOY!

i know im real late on this request, but is it possible to make the app close or minimize after u play the song ur searching for? That's how the jump file works with winamp.
great program, i used the jump file function all the time, and i need it!
Sure it's possible.
The one I originally created is for better use with RoadRunner; not in standalone mode.
Here's the v0.98.5b Standalone just for you:
http://djik.urbansoot.net/apps/JTF%2...Standalone.zip
Extract it to the same folder where the 'Images' folder is.
Now you can use either one.![]()
