    ID3 read Preset

Is it possible for roadrunner/ winamp to read the genre section of an ID3 tag and cause a specific preset to be set? eg. on loading a rock tune, the program reads the ID3 tag, sees that the genre is rock and so loads the rock preset.

this would be better native unless it had other features along with it but still a cool idea

This is already in place using the winamp auto-eq functions.. you just have to toggle it on and use it.. there's a set of commands to control the auto-load eq ON/OFF as well as to save an auto-load preset for the current song. I do not know of any skin currently using such features.

If I'm not mistaken, the preset loaded from RR also changes volume?

I would go with Guino's option...

    That'll be these then?

    Code:
    "WINAMPEQ"	- Toggles Winamp Equilizer/PreAmp State (ON/OFF)
"AUTOEQ"	- Toggles Winamp Autoload Song EQ presets (ON/OFF)
"SAVEEQ"	- Saves the current EQ settings to be autoloaded for current playing song (Loaded when AutoEQ is ON)
"SAVEDEFAULTEQ"	- Saves the current EQ settings to be autoloaded as default when song has no AutoEQ saved and AutoEQ is ON

I think he meant limit the playlist to tracks matching the genre of a track already selected to play, not equalizer presets

@Enforcer: Yes, those are the commands, I think there are indicators too.

Those are EQ presets (just not the .pst files RR saves) -- Those only save Winamp EQ settings (not on the ID3 tags though). If you set the Equalizer in RR and save the preset for a song, the next time that song loads (and AutoEQ is ON), the preset will automatically load for that song. This is basically the same feature winamp has by itself, just through RR.

I guess I will have to wait and hope then That someone makes this. Setting it up for over 6000 songs one by one will take too long but i only have about 3 genre types, so this would be instantaneous. It was bad enough doing artist and album art - hey, maybe im just lazy. Thanks all the same.
