    e36 BMW ac interface

I"m thinking of building carpc for my 99 bmw,i got most of the stuff that is needed, but my only requaiment(for my self), is to have full control of ac. I was thinking of using something like this(http://www.apogeekits.com/usb_input_output_k8061.htm) for interface, but sw part would be a problem, what would be the easiest way to integrate this to RR? Here is a pic of accual ac module:

    Thanks, Russ

Well there already is an RRPlugin for that kit or a similar one

Velleman K8055 USB I/O Board Extension plugin

however the main problem is going to be working out how to actually control the CC with the software and where exectly to connect to it.

You will need to find out more about the way the CC works.

Also I think most people that want to control their A/C will be those with manula controls.

If you have any success keep us posted coz I also have the same CC.

Depends, how many input and outputs do you really need?

There is a RR plugin for the K8055 board which has a 5 bit input, a 8 bit output and two analog inputs and outputs. See: Velleman K8055 USB I/O Board Extension plugin

I don't think is would be hard to make that plugin available for the K8061 as well but I only have a K8055 to test....

Your main concern should be finding out more about the climate control module first, then when you have more information, others here will be able to help with the plugin etc.

Well, looking at the pin assignments you have a number of inputs and outputs, what you need to determine is whether they are digital I/O's (ie ON or OFF) or analogue (ie have a variable voltage).

Also you need to find out what the voltage ranges of the variable ones are. (temperatures ones for example)

Also finding out what the CC is doing with the information fromt the RPM input and vehicle speed siganl input and then outputting to the DME (RPM speed increase).

The is a hell of a lot of different variables in this and it won't be a simple job.
