The other was a large one (2kb) in Libraries/Docs/RR/plugins/RRTMS. I changed the smaller one to match the larger one and bingo it works.
Hey whteglve how exactly did you change the smaller file to reflect the larger file?

Ok, I feel awkward asking this question.

Any way to get this to work on Android/iPhone devices? I am redoing my install and moving to an Android 4.0 based solution. I currently have all the features I need, since Android is more mobile based then a PC. I am sure more people will start hopping over to Android/iPhone based solutions and this would be an awesome addition. Android 3.0 and up, support USB Host Mode, which allows you to connect almost all devices, granted the software can access it. I wanted to reuse my USB OBD2, so as long as I have USB Host Mode enabled and have Torque Pro installed, I can use it.

So far, after searching, the only solution is TireHawk Bright+ which is built for Android/iPhone, but i'd rather use the solution I have. Another way, maybe have it connected to my car pc, but have a way to push the data to the tablet? IDK, can this solution be ported over to Tablet?

You? Feel awkward about asking a question? Behave.

Well the source code is public, so it would need someone familiar with Android programming, an android device and probably Robby's device. (hard to do it without)

Now, I have Robby's device, I also have an android tablet, but no experience with developing Android apps.

Not unless they come out with an Android version. The Windows based Car PC didnt work out for me. Go over to my thread and see what its used for now. http://www.mp3car.com/worklogs/15346...thin-core.html

But back to my question. Who do I have to ask to get this ported to Android? What exactly do you guys need and is there even any interest? More and more people are moving to tablets and I am sure they will want TPMS solution. (** HINT HINT MP3Car.com Store**) I found this article, http://www.techradar.com/us/news/pho...id-app-1046599, figured it would explain what is needed to make an app. Alien to me, but to someone here, since RR guys seem to be savy with tinkering, it may be easy.

It all depends on what was used to write the CF plugin; most Android apps are written in Java, and the ones that have a C/C++ component are limited by the Android Native Development Kit's current limits on functionality (I've been looking into porting some C apps from Linux to Android and have run into that wall already). If the CF plugins are written in VB.NET, they would have to be ported to C/C++ first, if possible.

Well it doesn't have to be the CF version. How bout RR version. I mean all it has to do is read days right?

Read Days? What are you on about dude?

Basically what it needs is someone to be able to create an android app that can read from the USB port and then manipulate the data it recieves.

Now anyone familiar with Java could probably do that, and as DW has suggested maybe someone familiar with C/C++ could do it.

The only tricky bit is the conversin of the data, seeing as that code was written by RobbyBMW in VB6.

So it would need someone to convert this VB6 cvode to C/C++ and then probably Java (note Java not Javascript).

The CF Plugin was written in C so should be easier to convert. Not sure if the source is still available though.

You would then need someone who has an interest in doing this. But seeing as it is a very limited market at the moment it would unlikely be any of the commercial Andoroid developers as they would probably need the kit and a nice wedge to do it.

I might have a go in the future, once I have done a version for FreeICE and got my other projects to where I want them, but it would then need me learning whole new languages, which I'm not adverse to, but don't expect anything anytime soon.

However I am willing to help anyone out (as a testers and possible advisor) who wants to try as I do have experience with coding the unit to a plugin, an androd devic and more importantly the TPMS unit fitted to a car.

Enforcer, I might be able to write the Android app, but I have no way of testing it, since I don't yet have a TPMS unit for my Trailblazer; it's something I really need to get, as I have a troublesome tire (or is that tyre?) that needs it.
