How about a theater listing. Kind of like a directory structure. Click on theaters then will list movies then showtimes.

its in the works, though it will be a bit more difficult. freeway requires you to manually enter the name and "theaterID" of the theaters in movies.ini. I'm gonna have to create a database of this information with lat and lon's to get a theater listing. Its all planned but with my vb skills its gotta be in babysteps lol.

Don't forget about streaming apple trailers.

You might want to look at the Meedio MovieTimes VBNET stuff for ideas (movie showtimes / trailers).

apple trailers huh.. i SERIOUSLY doubt i'm gonna get that far with it.. but ya know. I didnt think i'd have this much done so soon lol. As of now i can download local theaters (up to 12) using either the CURRENTZIP label or a user-defined zip code, and download movie listings per theater. Next up is displaying a pop-up skin showing the movie times and desciption. The final stage will be displaying movie art, navigating to the movie theater (this will be done thru iguidance the same way gasnav is done), and lastly some sort of caching system. As of now you MUST have internet to use the plugin and i really dont know how i'm gonna get around that considering what i'm basically doing is pulling the page source from the internet and scraping what i need out of it. Maybe attempt to detect a connection and if there isnt one present check the "movietimes" folder for offline webpages. I dunno how it will work but i'm not to that point quite yet!

What would be great is if someone could create a decent looking "sample" skin for this. I'm using the bmv2 audio browser and while it works, its not gonna tell anyone what each button does. The skin needs to be pretty simple and if someones interested they can post here or pm me. I'll put together a "skin commands" text file listing each object and skin requirements.

Just note that the skin name is outside of the quotes in the above example, and looks incorrect. That is how it has to be formatted to work though.

This plugin is going to be VERY handy when you are done with it! Keep up the great work!

i forgot all about those commands.. though i wonder if one of those works on a custom list. I'll have to try and see.

Now for a little more info on the "info" pop-up screen

It currently displays labels for the movie's rating (i.e PG-13 etc), a brief description of the movie, the show times, and a very small thumbnail image of the movies poster (remember we're dealing with a wap site). There are also indicators for the movie's reviewed rating (1 thru 5 stars)

Here's a little video showing progress!

Noticibly missing are the movie images as i havent quite decided how i wanna handle those (download to a temp folder or display right from the net). Also missing is the navigation feature because i dont have the theater address labels solved yet.. but here it is for the most part in working order.

Sorry for the choppiness of the video but i'm on a rather slow computer....

ok I've released a beta!

it doesnt have all the bells and whistles (cache support or navigation), but it does (should) work. Couple of notes:

-As i said no cache support or navigation.. but i'm working on that
-currently the manually entry of zip code is done on numosk.skin, searching for a solution for you canadians as we speak!
-Sample skin SUCKS.. PLEASE someone make a new one! lol

Looks great sonic!! Are you working on support to pull the zip from navigation if you have it? that would be great if you could just click one button and it loads the lists for local theatres on its own! Keep up the good work!
