Actually, you should be able to set up the properties to compile to .NET 2.0. I think this would be better because the FCC uses .NET 2.0, so you won't have to install another runtime.

Yeah, found it. Not sure if it's the same for the 2008 version, but under "Project" >> "Properties" >> "Build", you'll find "Supported Runtimes". You should be able to choose .NET 2.0 from there.

i can change it to 2.0.. but upon doing so i get 3 or 4 warnings about potential problems.. i will test it out compiled in 2.0 and make the decision based on performance. I too hesitated when i upgraded to 3.5 so i'm aware that others may not wanna do that too.

The 3.5 framework really doesnt have anything special compared to 2.0, so 2.0 might be best to try and support.

I might be able to help you out with the warnings it gives.

The only problem I could foresee is that it won't let you use 3.5 specific namespaces in your app.

And I am not aware of any 3.5 libraries that dont have a 2.0 equivalent. (meaning I dont think there is anything new, just "improved" or so they say)

i'm back and ready to crunch this thing out to ya.. i'm gonna change it to 2.0.. test briefly, create the txt files and get a pm link out to ya today.
