I have an "Update log, on my remote folder, but no Update err.
update.err cannot be found any where on either system. I ran an update today and it read and displayed what it was reading like usual. It said "Copying" for a moment but then did nothing and the update was done. When I compare the update logs they do not match up. The update log on the carpc says the update took place but nothing done. The Desktop shows that some songs were removed along with album art, which I did remove from the desktop. It did not delete the folders however, which I had deleted all together on the desktop, and it still hasnt copied a new folder of Music from the desktop to the carpc.
I'm starting to think it's a permission issue with Vista.
The debug is definitely showing it's trying to print an error , which would be the update.err file.
What I'll have to do is add some extra debugging code for you. However I am away for two weeks now, so will have to have a look at it at the end of the month.
Hye no Prob, I assumed Vista on home desktop would give me some sort of crap..I am going to be hosting the remote/desktop portion of the Music on a Media Server in this upcoming week. Maybe it will work with the media server better than the desktop and PC. It seems like vista wants "Shared permission" for each individual folder. One would think adding permissions and sharing to a folder would include any/all sub folders and files. We'll see. Ill let you know when it's setup. Thanks, and much appreciated.
Got my home media server setup last night and transferred all my files. It runs Windows Home Media Server. I am going to attempt to sync tonight when I get home from work. Will report how it does..
Oh man...No dice what so ever. I connected to the home server no problem, clicked update, watched it read all the folders, and it stopped. I didn't update a thing. The access.ok file is present on both ends.
This is literally the log.

I am at a loss...
was that on the vista machine or the media server pc
That was the media server. I am really not understanding what could have happened. It worked for the most part at first. It transferred newly added items etc..Could "Debug=True" in the .ini cause anything? Maybe I put it in the wrong spot? It worked for the most part up until then.
I changed it from "Mirror Down" to "Add Download"..It worked...sort of..Mirror down is ideal for me but I figured I'd try something else. Still no update.err log either.
It downloaded an appropriate folder I added full of flac files. the other folder of music I downloaded however only downloaded the folder itself and not the album and mp3's contained within. Soo...Again. :der:
Debug=true should not cause any problems with sync'ing.
Can you email me some of the dubug.txt files you are getting on different machines.
