    Cool! It would definitely be nicer to be able to set it to automatic mode and when you go out and start the car, it "sees" new music and switches to let you know it is syncing. Right now, automatic mode is not really useful in any way. As if it is set to 1 minute, every single minute while RR is running, it switches to the sync screen

    My thinking is is it a very small change to the plugin. Just put the screen switching lines of code into the "copying files" section. This way it will only be switched to when files are actually being copied.

    Or possibly even easier, change the line that switches to the plugin screen to:

    If $rrupd8_PATH$ <> "" then RRUpd8

    This way, when the rrupd8 label is propagated with something, it means it is copying files..... From looking at the label, when nothing is being copied, the label is empty / = ""

    On another note, I am not sure how you are coping the files internally... But when I have been testing, it locks some of the copied files as being "in use". Thus I can not delete them to do more testing. This not only means testing problems, but if this happens in the car, you may not be able to edit tags in the files, embed album art ect, as the file is seen as being "in use". It's also never really a good idea to leave a file in an "open state".

    If I close RR, I can then delete the files that were copied, as the DLL shuts down, and no longer has them "open".

    It's also never really a good idea to leave a file in an "open state".
    Only in certain circumstances...this certainly isn't one of them...

    My request would be to have both button & indicatorclick's cmd in both functions, to give skinners much more flexibility to how they want to incorp this into their skin....

    Example, the code "RRUpd8_Popup" is both a clickable ind and as a button code, but what about all the other clickable ind codes????

    Yea, I hit that brick wall already The BMV2 skin example that it comes with, uses large indicator area's instead of buttons for many things. My skin does not use the text for buttons ect inside of the skin images, but has all the text in the skin files. Also using the indicator code does not allow for "rollover" images, making it impossible to use with a powermate, space navigator ect such as the way the iDrive skin was designed.

    I am working on a work around now, and trying to come up with something....

    Other than some some Skinning issues, the plugins is working very well! If I delete just one file inthe destination folder, the plugins see's it and copies it over automatically.... very nice!

    I agree about leaving files in an "open state".

    Just checked the file copying code and all files are closed, even if for some reason there is a error while trying to copy the error routine will close those open files.

    Just did some quick testing as well. During the tests there were no open files, and all files could be deleted. However for some reason, and I'm not quite sure how this works it seems the last folder copied to cannot be deleted, despite having no files in it. Maybe that's what you are experiencing.

    I will look into this but it seems kind of weird as you don't 'open' a folder.

    The only clickable indicator codes that are not buttons as well are rrmedia and automatic. I can make them button codes for future releases.

    I am having an Issue.

    I successfully established a link between my desktop (Remote) and my Carputer.

    Prior to trying my first sync, I manually sync'd the music folders so the one on my desktop and carputer were identical. I added an album to the Source (Desktop) and it sync'd it properly. My issue is that when I removed and Artist/albums under it, it did not delete that Artist/albums from the Carputer. I have it set to Mirror Down, making the Desktop what I want the Carputer to mirror.

    Also, I cannot get the indicators to work. I downloaded the BMV2 skin example and copied the skins to my Skin folder. There are 2 folders for Sliders/indicators with 20 or so png's in them..Where do these 2 folders go? Thanks.

    Doug, I am not sure but it's worth a try... Do you have Elcamino's YouTube plugin in stalled? There was a problem with the next to last release that caused indicators in other plugins not to work. He fixed it and uploaded a new version in that thread if that is the case.

    I had the same problem, thinking the RRGas indicators were not working, till I narrowed it down.

    I do not have the youtube plugin. The BMV2 skin example is supplied in an RAR archive. When extracted there are the skin files and coorelating png's which I dropped right into the DFX4 folder. The indicator PNG's are in two seperate folders. Where are those folders going? I placed them right into DFX4 and nothing..I think "I" just might be doing something wrong. Thanks

    The BMV2.zip file is a zip file not a RAR (Shouldn't make any difference, but it could)

    When you extract the 'zip' it should give you a folder BMV2.

    In that folder there are two subfolders, these are slider folders and contain 21 images each.

    Also in that folder are a number of .skin files and .jpgs, these are the skin files and images for the plugin.

    There are also two .png files these are the yes and no indicators, indicating whether a sync is connected or not.

    to have this run in BMV2 just extract the zip to <RR>\Skins\ and it will put the files in the correct place.

    To place this in different skins, first extract to an out of the way place, I suggest C:\ then copy all the contents of the BMV2 folder to the skin folder of your choice.


    Simples.
