Q. Why should I use this plugin version in RR as opposed to the Standalone version?
A. There is no reason why you shouldn't use the standalone version, however this version has better intergration with RoadRunner skins and can also work with transparent ones
Q. How can I download this wonderful creation?
A. Register on my forum at www.en4cer.co.uk/forum , when activated go to the downloads section.
or download from the AutoAppMart (registration will still be needed on my forum to activate)
Q. Does this application only work with Road Runner/Ride Runner?
A. Yes, this is a dedicated RoadRunner/RideRunner Plugin, However there is a standalone version available.
Q. How do I change the size?
A. The plugin will run at the same size as RoadRunner.
Q. Can I use RRSkineditor to edit the skin?
A. Yes.
Q. How do I embed this is my skin?
A. Add a button with the command RRUpd8, and then design the screens to match your skin. Use the Carwings skin files as a guideline
Q. Would someone care to send me this?
A. The install rrupd8.exe can be shared
Q. Will this compare existing files with the source files.
A. At the moment it compares the modified date, so if changes were made it will copy the latest version or leave the newer version there.
But no it doesn't compare the files byte for byte. The way the program is written I can add that but it's likely to really slow it down (But I will see if there is an easy way to do that for the future maybe)
Q. would it be possible for the app to say what the estimates size might be of the files selected ?
A. Not the way it works a present. Essentially it looks at all the files at the source and then goes through the destination and checks if it exists, if it doesn't or is older it copies the new one over. To have it tell you whether there was enough space before hand it would have to make a list of the differences and then start copy, which don't really want to do as the list might change while it's copying.
Q. Can it, when selecting files / folders, have the option to 'tick' trees like a lot of AV software does when you selecting which folder / subfolder you want to copy.
A. The idea is for you to a have a location in the same format as that on your CarPC, I don't think I'll be adding a selectable folder option as it will complicate it too much. (Unless there is a lot of requests for it)
Q. Can it update RoadRunners Playlists when copying is done?
A. If RRMedia is running, yes.
Q. I have set up a sync, but the plugin does not sync any files?
A. First check that you have the access.ok file in the root of your remote location. This will normally be done automatically if you have used the plugin to set the sync paths. Also make sure you have write permissions to the destination folder.
