    RideRunner with MobilePhone.NET is awesome

Just got a NetBook and fooled around with car entertainment software.

Most features works like a charm.

I'm still digging for answers to few difficulties I experiment but getting there slowly but surely.

Here are few details on my setup...

    Running:
    - RideRunner 09/01/10
    - MobilePhone 1.1.5
    - BlueSoleil 8.0.338.0
    - Windows 7

    Hardware:
    - SonyEricsson W580i
    - ALPS Bluetooth Device from IVR Corporation in Netbook

    I experiment missing features as:
    - On call reception Caller ID is name unavailable (I see the calling phone number in both fields)
    - SMS and Contact data is missing when BlueSoleil dig them into my phone (partially but they are available within BlueSoleil)

Additionnal question on the missing Caller ID Name... will MobilePhone.Net display CID Name only when the phone number calling is associated with a Contact in the Phonebook or if available with my cellphone Carrier provides it?

This has become a very long thread and I've Google a lot without any luck to find answers. Contributions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    HeaveHo

Callerid only shows the number. Caller name shows the name IF the number exists in the mobilephone_pc.txt file.
SMS and contacts are not possible except for adding the contacts to mobilephone_pc.txt

Have a look at the help file I include with the installer

    Hi

Im trying to get RR working with mobilephone.net. I have installed Bluesoleil v8, vc++ redistributable and then try to install mobilephone.net i get an error from regasm saying it cant register the dll. I've tried both v1.14 and 1.15. the error shows as follows:

    Execute: "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Reg Asm" "C:\Program Files (x86)\RideRunner\plugins\Mobilephone.NET\mobilepho ne.dll" /tlb:mobilephone.tlb /codebase "

    regasm error ra0000.

I've tried to manually register it as in post 77 but still no luck. it looks like it cant find the file but its definitely there.

It seems like alot of people have had it but no one posts the solution! I'm on win 7 with the latest RR.

    Thanks for your help!

nope. this is a new one. Googling the error code says "Could not load file or assemby" which means something the dll dpends on is missing or not available.

Did the error message have anything about which file it couldn't load as that would be a big help.

Also I've never tried this on win7 and it could be a permissions problem

    Where is mobilephone.log?

I've been away from mobilephone.net for a while.

I updated to the most recent version.

None of the labels are updated in my own skin (named mobilephone.skin).

So I wanted to look at mobilephone.log but couldn't find it anywhere.

    I did find bswrapper.log in c;\program files\riderunner.

Any one know where mobilephone.log hides these days?

    Regards,
    Jim

NEVER MIND - I found it, new name, new directory.

I recently got Mobilephone plugin partly working. I know threw out there is bits and pieces as to what works and what doesn't with the different phones. I was wondering if it was possible to create a chart of phones with the functions that are known to work? Maybe include a pending functions.

    BTW Great plugin, awesome work!

great plugin, but it doesn't work for me. i tested it some time back and it worked like a charm.

now trying to get it to work on same pc on carwings dynamic lite skin, xp sp3. previously i might have been using older version of rr but im not 100% sure.

ran the installer, mapped the key in skin and i am able to navigate to mobilephone page but buttons do not work. previously it used to display numbers when i press number keys and pop up window for incoming calls n now nothing, i don't even see this plugin listed under plugin manager page. tried it on another xp machine with latest version of rr and same results....

    any suggestions? thanks in advance

Well if its not in the plugin manager then either its not registered properly or it is crashing straight away.

Start by looking in the debug logs MobilePhoneDebug.log, bswrapper.log and then look at riderunners debug.txt log.

If no debug from mobilephone and rr says couldn't find the plugin then its a registration problem.
