    Hi Guys

I am trying to load the mobile phone app to no avail. I have included two screen shots of the install errors. I have also installed VC++Redist and Microsoft Net and the install will still not find VC++. I have also manually registered mobile phone.dll and it is comming up under plugins in Carwings. I think I have exhausted everthing That I can do so if one of you gurus could assist it would be gratly apprecieated.

I am self taught with this stuff so I am not quite sure what you will need regarding system info

    Cheers

    Bernie

    I believe I mentioned this back a few pages/posts.

Did you click OK or Cancel when it gives you the VCC installer error?
If you clicked OK, that might be where your problem is. Try clicking cancel when it says it can't find it.
    Then see how it goes.

Edit - for quotes of things to check

Move the mobilephone.ini from the install directory into the profile config directory and that should work... but if you're able to dial from RR then it's reading from the ini.

    Thanks Mate

This has been a very big learning curve for me I have read the preceeding posts but stuggled to get it right. It seems now that my phone is connected and I just thought i would try and ring another phone and bingo it did however no battery, signal or contacts are coming up now is there any easy to understand notes for dummies on this?

    Cheers

    No Probs
Battery and Signal are spotty at best. It really depends on the phone, and how BlueSoleil connects with it. I think I only had 1 phone show the signal properly once, and the other phones and times were either 5 or nothing - and the 5 would've been when I was actually about 2.
Contacts are stored on the computer itself, and not pulled into RR. There is a contactlist that you can edit on the computer and then also create jpgs of the people and save those as the phone number.
Then when they call, it will use the number as the index and show the name and picture.

Not really the best - but it is what it is. I haven't used this in almost a year, so not remembering things or have it installed on my home/work machine anymore... not even sure it's in the car now.
What phone do you have? There is a newer Android phone plugin out there that sounds good.

while somebody is reading this thread recently, I have a problem.
I installed this plug-in and after loads of suffering finally got it working on an aspireOne 1.6Ghz processor, 1Gb ram, 8Gb SSD, XP machine, BS8.0.395, and bmw e36 skin.
My problem is related with the sound quality while talking on the phone thru my carpc. my voice goes blurry and I hear the other side blurry. I dont know how to describe the sound exactly, sorry about my lack of language skills. but I can say that I can hardly hear and same story on the other side of the phone.
I tried 3 different bt adapters but no help.
Can anybody help me get this handsfree function work as it should?

PS. I can listen to mp3 files through BT clearly, this sound problem occurs only while making a phone call.
PS2. My phone is a lumia800, and I tried with another mobile as well, same result.

The Android plugin is here - RRDroid [phone control for Android phones]
But since you have an iphone, you might want to see what this one is all about - http://www.mp3car.com/rr-plugins/154...ne-plugin.html

It seems like your issue isn't related to the BT since you can listen to MP3's by it. What microphone are you using in the car? Is it going through the computer's sound card, or do you have a USB soundcard and microphone like the Andrea SUMA? Do you have any noise cancelling? Have you trained Windows for the volume of the microphone? Is Windows set to listen to the microphone (if so turn it off - would likely cause feedback)?
I found that when I was talking to someone with a Blackberry, the volume was rather low, but with someone else using an Android phone, the volume was much better.

I tested my carpc setup at home, and I was using the internal microphone of the pc. I also have a usb soundcard but I didnt try with it, since when I was using the eeePC, my previous carpc netbook, I had the exact same problem. I thought this was not a problem related with usb dongle, sound card or the microphone itself. Saying this, I must also say I dont have any noice cancelling hw or sw wise. and my sound problem doesnt feel like its a feedback issue.
I didnt tune the microphone in windows, just set it to max setting for testing.
funny thing is, its not only the other side hearing me with sound problems(which my microphone setup might cause), its also me hearing the other side "blurry". so I thought this is not only a microphone related issue.
    What else can I check?
