This is something i've done with my skin. I've set the MENU;moblecall.skin command to read the callers number out load using exectbl.ini. Its fairly complexed however. Lambo, if you create a command in your plugin that will run "MENU;MOBILECALL.SKIN" and call that command instead of the "MENU;" command.. users would be able to specify what they want to happen when a call comes in. For example, you could create the command MOBILEPHONE_INCOMING which by default would run MENU;MOBILECALL.SKIN. But with the use of exectbl.ini we could make it perform things like

"MOBILEPHONE_INCOMING","MENU;MOBILECALL.SKIN||SETVARBYCODE;WHOSCALLING;MOBILEPHONE_CALLERID||TALK;INCOMING CALL FROM $WHOSCALLING$"

could also run a file to make the sound of a ringtone. Whatever the user specifies basically.

Found the incall problem. Have now changed it so mobilephone_incall recognises when in a call regardless of whether its incomming or outgoing. No code released yet.

Will change the unknown to same number.

sonic / teamrsx. Initially I used mute command to silence winamp but if found it didn't allways mute the sound...i.e. while video playing so changed it to PAUSE and PLAY. Neither of these mute the sound. I think the problem is that nothing makes a ringing sound EXCEPT the phone itself. I found that I hear ringing because the phones audio connection sends it. I use a flash skin , because I use freedom Ultimate, which plays a ring for me .

As for using a command instead of calling mobilecall.skin I would prefer to include an option to switch it off. The hardest part of RR is the skinning and the simpler I can make it the better. Switching off means you have the skills to know how to do something differently while less experienced people can use it straight out the box.

RR has been far too long without a decent Phone App. Something CF has been able to do seamlessly for a long time. As for the RR phone apps, I have tried em all, and never was satisfied with any of them, or got them to really work.

I was wondering if this plugin would work with my iPhone, and I read a few posts where it is working perfectly with it! Fantastic! I have not downloaded this or try to set it up yet. I just got back from China, after being there for 2 months, and have a lot of other stuff to catch up on here first. I have subscribed and am watching the thread closely though!

i'm not following. Switch what off? Having a custom command means you can do whatever you want with it through exectbl.ini. Dont want a pop message at all?? you just use "MOBILEPHONE_INCOMING","DONOTHING".

Sonic. What I mean is as an experienced skinner you have the skills to know how to add commands to the exectbl file. However for those that dont I want to make it easy. So for the experienced guys who want to customise you can now stop the plugin from executing the MENU;MOBILECALL.skin command by setting it to off in the ini file. For everyone else the plugin will execute the command so you dont need skinning skills to use it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is working perfectly with the iPhone. It works perfectly for me but it depends on what you want. It will not read contacts or sms from the phone...that integration isn't there. However it will detect incoming calls and pause/resume playback on an incoming call and that is all I wanted. It will also be able to make outgoing calls placed from the PC and the PC can maintain a contacts list for you.
To test what functionality you could use DL Bluesoleil and its free (to test) dialer app. Then you can see what is possible.
